A-League: Bulls eye return to winning ways

Macarthur will be out to boost their top six hopes when they entertain struggling Western United on Friday night.

The Bulls have stopped a run of three consecutive defeats after drawing their last two games, but now they need to start picking up wins again.

There is no better place to start than a home game against a Western side that have won two games all season and sit bottom of the ladder.

Macarthur can be backed at 2.00 to finish in the top six, but the competition is fierce and a home win against Western is a must.

Western are 2.37 to finish bottom and pick up the wooden spoon after losing nine of their 11 games this season.

Bulls stop the rot

Macarthur have failed to pick up a win in the last five games, but at least they have stopped a losing streak that stretched for three games.

The Bulls picked up a 1-1 draw away at Adelaide United on Monday, and it was the same result at home to Newcastle in the game before.

Another 1-1 draw against Western United can be backed at 8.00.

However, Macarthur will be going all out for a much-needed three points to get them back on track.

The goals have dried up a little, scoring just one in each of their last three games, while Western have scored just eight all season.

It could be a low-scoring affair at CommBank Stadium and under 2.5 goals can be backed at 2.40.

Valere Germain has netted two of Macarthur's last three goals and is priced at 2.60 to score at anytime on Friday.

Western struggles continue

Western United’s losing streak continued at the weekend as they slipped to their ninth loss of the season.

However there were positives to take from a narrow 2-1 defeat against a Melbourne City side that had scored eight the week before.

United were leading for much of the game thanks to a Michael Ruhs strike on 13 minutes, but City fought back with the winner coming in the 82nd minute.

Western do have a decent record against the Bulls and have lost just one game in the last five against them.

However, three of them have been draws, with the only win coming on their own ground in April 2022.

Scoring goals has been an issue and Ruhs can be backed at 9.50 to grab the first of the game, while Nikita Rukavytsya is 3.50 to score anytime.
