A-League: City face must-win Glory clash

Melbourne City will be out to keep their finals hopes alive when they take on Perth Glory on Sunday afternoon.

There are just three games of the regular season remaining, and unless there is a big turnaround, City will not be playing finals for the first time in a long time.

City sit four points behind Western Sydney Wanderers, who are in sixth, but do have to play them in the penultimate game of the season.

Last season’s minor premiers are 2.00 to finish in the top six, so there is still hope, but they cannot afford to slip up against Glory.

Glory are battling to avoid the wooden spoon following a horror run of results, and with their pride on the line, they could be a dangerous animal.

Along with Western United, Glory are priced at 2.62 to finish the season bottom of the A-League.

Must-win for City

Melbourne City cannot afford any slip ups and need to win their three remaining game to have a chance of making the top six.

Their recent form is not the greatest either, losing two and drawing one in the last three games, and they need to bounce back.

City smashed Western Sydney Wanderers 7-0 on 12th March, but apart from that, goals have been hard to come by this season.

Take away the 7-0 win and they have not scored more than one goal in the last nine games, failing to score at all in three of them.

With Glory battling to avoid the wooden spoon, they could dig in and keep things tight, so under 2.5 goals in the game is available at 3.20.

When City have managed to find the back of the net, it has been Tolgay Arslan doing the damage, with four goals in the last three games.

He was on target in the 2-1 defeat to Melbourne Victory last week and is priced at 7.00 to score the first goal, or 2.62 to score at anytime.

Glory playing for pride

Glory seemed to have found some form a couple of months ago and were looking up the ladder rather than down.

However three defeats and two draws in the last five games has seen them plummet, and they now face a battle to avoid the wooden spoon.

Their away record has not been great, but they have shown they can cause an upset on the road when beating Western Sydney Wanderers 2-1.

And when you have Adam Taggart in your team, there is always hope.

The striker has 17 goals for the season, only Melbourne Victory star Bruno Fornaroli has more with 18.

Taggart put Glory 2-0 in front against Adelaide United last week, before they conceded four to lose 4-2.

Even so Taggart will still be a huge threat to the City defence and is priced at 3.25 to score at anytime or 9.00 to get the first goal.
