A-League: Edmondson out to build on hat-trick

Central Coast Mariners suffered a rare defeat last weekend and will be out to bounce back against Western Sydney Wanderers.

The Mariners had been taking the A-League by storm until they suffered a 3-1 home loss against Sydney FC.

However they still sit second on the ladder and can be backed at 5.00 to go on and win the minor premiership.

Western Sydney are just three points behind them having played a game less and are priced at 7.00 to be top of the pile come the end of the regular season.

There have been some high-scoring, exciting games in the A-League recently, and this has the makings to be another.

Mariners need a reaction

Central Coast had not been beaten in 12 games before they suffered a shock home loss against Sydney FC.

They were 3-0 down within 20 minutes and there was no way back from there. Some put it down to a heavy schedule catching up with them, and it has been another busy week.

The Mariners were in AFC Champions League action on Tuesday night and normal business resumed with a 4-0 home win over Phnom Penh Crown.

English midfielder Ryan Edmondson was the star with a hat-trick, proving the Mariners have goals all over the park.

He can be backed at 3.20 to carry that form into the Wanderers game by scoring at anytime.

The Mariners do have a good record against the Wanderers and have lost just one of the last six games against them.

The last time they met at Central Coast Stadium, it finished 2-2 and over 2.5 goals can be backed at 1.57, while under is 2.35.

Wanderers seeing red

The Wanderers stopped the sequence of win one, lose one while fighting out a 3-3 draw with Newcastle Jets last weekend.

They finished that game with nine men after Tate Russell and Jorrit Hendrix were both sent off, and they will be suspended for the Mariners clash.

Wanderers have now had players sent off in each of the last three games and could do with keeping 11 men on the pitch on Sunday.

Lachlan Brook has been in good touch and scored another couple of goals as they fought back against the Jets.

The midfielder can be backed at 4.00 to score at anytime.

Western Sydney lost 1-0 to the Mariners on home soil earlier this season and will be out for revenge.

They can be backed at 15.00 to pull of the same scoreline and win 1-0 on the Central Coast on Sunday afternoon.
