A-League: Fab four in action

Four of the top six are in action on Sunday, in what could be an exciting climax to Matchday 7 in the A-League.

In the first game of the day, fifth-placed Adelaide United take on Brisbane Roar, who sit one point and one place above them on the ladder.

Then later in the day, we have all the makings of a potential classic when Western Sydney Wanderers take on Melbourne Victory at CommBank Stadium.

There could be goals galore in both of the games, so let’s take a look at the big double header on Super Sunday.

OddsAdelaide United 2.20, Draw 4.00, Brisbane Roar 2.90

Adelaide United have had an inconsistent start to the season and they slipped to another defeat when going down 4-3 in a thriller against Macarthur on Monday.

The Reds are the leading goalscorers in the A-League this season, when finding the back of the net 17 times, but they have also let in 11.

Brisbane Roar have also conceded 10, and over 2.5 goals in Sunday’s encounter can be backed at 1.44.

Adelaide United have goals throughout their team, but Zach Clough is leading the way with four this season, and is priced at 2.75 to score at anytime.

There has not been much to separate the two sides in recent meetings and there have been a couple of draws, a 1-1 and a 0-0.

1-1 again on Sunday is priced at 8.50, and the way Brisbane have started the season, they will fancy their chances of getting a result in Adelaide.

Unbeaten records on the line

OddsWestern Sydney Wanderers 2.30, Draw 3.60, Melbourne Victory 2.90

Two of the draw specialists go head-to-head at CommBank Stadium, with Western Sydney Wanderers taking on Melbourne Victory.

Both sides remain unbeaten but Wanderers have drawn three of their six games, while Victory have drawn 4.

Another draw is a strong possibility on Sunday, a high-scoring one at that, and 2-2 can be backed at 12.00.

Western Sydney have a great record against Victory in recent times, winning the last three at home, and they will be hoping to keep that good run going.

Victory would be top of the ladder this season had they been able to hold on to a lead.

On three occasions this season they have been in front only to concede and end up with just a point to show for their efforts.

That happened again when they faced Central Coast Mariners at the weekend, but at least they have Bruno Fornaroli, who bagged his seventh goal of the season in that game.

The strike ace can be backed at 6.50 to get the first goal of the game on Sunday.
