A-League: Melbourne Victory out to build on derby win

Melbourne Victory will be out to secure back-to-back wins when they entertain Macarthur FC on Sunday afternoon.

Victory have made a solid start to the season, picking up four points from the opening two games, and can be backed at 4.50 to go on and win the grand final.

The derby victory over Melbourne City will have given them a shot in the arm, but they need to back it up on home soil against the Bulls.

Macarthur came crashing back down to earth following a home defeat against Newcastle Jets and need to respond against Victory.

A win would see Macarthur jump over Victory, but that will be easier said than done, particularly as they are away from home.

Macarthur can be backed at 2.75 to finish in the top six and play finals.

Melbourne Victory look to kick on

Four points from two games has been a good start to life under new coach Patrick Kisnorbo, but Victory need to make sure they see off Macarthur on Sunday.

Following a solid 0-0 draw at Central Coast Mariners, Victory were ruthless in the first half against Melbourne City.

Victory raced into a 3-0 lead in the opening 25 minutes, and although they allowed City to pull one back, they will be happy with their work.

Nikos Vergos was among the goals and can be backed at 2.25 to score at anytime against Macarthur.

It remains to be seen if Bruno Fornaroli will return to the side, but Roderick Miranda is back from suspension and is likely to start.

The Victory faithful will be expecting goals, and over 2.5 goals in the game can be backed at 1.57.

Under 2.5 goals is 2.37, should Macarthur manage to keep it tight.

Bulls look to bounce back

After smashing Perth Glory in week one, Macarthur came crashing back down to earth with a 2-1 home defeat against the Jets.

They took the lead through Marin Jakolis, only to concede two goals in the second half, to lose the game.

Jakolis now has three goals in two games this season and will look to keep that form going at AAMI Park.

He can be backed at 6.00 to score at anytime in the game, while Valere Germain is priced at 3.50.

Macarthur will be missing Chris Ikonomidis and Bernardo through injury, but will feel they still have enough quality to get the job done.

The Bulls can be backed at 8.00 to battle out a 1-1 draw at AAMI Park.
