A-League: Phoenix target Sydney response

Wellington Phoenix will look to bounce back to winning ways when they entertain Sydney FC in a massive clash on Saturday.

The Nix slipped to a 1-0 defeat against Melbourne City last weekend and are now level on 40 points with Central Coast Mariners at the top of the ladder.

They are still 2.50 to win the minor premiership, but can ill-afford any more slip ups with the Mariners going well.

Brisbane Roar need a home win against fourth-placed Macarthur to keep their top-six hopes alive, and are priced at 2.37 to make finals.

It is tough times for Western Sydney Wanderers, who were hammered 7-0 by Melbourne City on Monday night, and now must travel to Perth to take on Glory.

Wellington Phoenix will look to bounce back to winning ways when they entertain Sydney FC in a massive clash on Saturday.

Wellington Phoenix saw their 10-game unbeaten run come to an end as they lost to Melbourne City 1-0, and will be keen to bounce back and start a new run.

They will also be out for revenge after losing 3-1 at Sydney FC back in December, so there is plenty at stake for both sides.

The last time they met in Auckland, Phoenix won the game 1-0, and the same scoreline on Saturday is priced at 13.00.

Sydney are on a roll and are undefeated in the last eight games. Striker Fabio Gomes remains in good touch and is 2.75 to score at anytime.

Roar out to keep finals hopes alive

. What: Brisbane Roar v Macarthur FC
. Where: Ballymore Stadium, Brisbane
. When: 15:00 (AEST), Saturday 16th March 2024
. How to watch: Paramount+
. Odds: Brisbane Roar 1.90, Draw 4.00, Macarthur FC 3.60

Brisbane are undefeated in the last three games but have drawn two of them and need to start winning if they are to play finals.

They have only beaten Macarthur once in the last six games, and suffered a 3-1 home defeat against the Bulls back in January.

Over 2.5 goals in the game once again can be backed at 1.40.

Ulises Davila scored for Macarthur in that 3-1 win and is priced at 3.20 to score at anytime once again.

Macarthur remain fourth on the ladder despite suffering a 3-0 home defeat against Central Coast Mariners last weekend.

Wanderers hit new low

. What: Perth Glory v Western Sydney Wanderers
. Where: HBF Park, Perth
. When: 18:45 (AEST), Saturday 16th March 2024
. How to watch: Paramount+
. Odds: Perth Glory 2.45, Draw 3.80, Western Sydney Wanderers 2.60

The Wanderers are in turmoil after being hammered 7-0 by Melbourne City on Monday night and the pressure is mounting on coach Marko Rudan.

They have also failed to win on their last three trips to Perth, with Glory winning the last two games 1-0. Another 1-0 win for Glory is priced at 12.00.

Adam Taggart continues to score goals for fun, and after bagging another brace in a 2-2 draw with Newcastle at the weekend, now has 14 for the season.

The striker is priced at 2.37 to score at anytime or 5.50 to get the first of the game.
