A-League: Reds need Irankunda back among the goals

Perth Glory will be looking to continue their recent revival by piling more misery on struggling Adelaide United on Friday night.

Glory are unbeaten in the last three and have picked up big wins over Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne City in the process.

All of a sudden they are within six points of the top six, and if they carry on, a finals campaign may not be out of the question.

They can be backed at 9.00 to make it, and another win on the road against Adelaide, would really boost their chances.

Adelaide are 2.25 to make the top six, but so far are having something of a season to forget with just five wins so far.

Reds need to stop the rot

Adelaide United have won just one game in the last six, and hit a new low when they were hammered 4-0 by Central Coast Mariners at the weekend.

The performance at Coopers Stadium fell well below the standards they have set in recent times and will be a worry for all connected to the club.

They have failed to score in the last two games, and that is also a concern for a side that can score goals for fun.

The goalscoring talent is there in the form of Nestory Irankunda and Hiroshi Ibusuki, and they need to get back among the goals quickly.

Irankunda can be backed at 2.30 to score at anytime, while Ibusuki is available at 2.40.

Adelaide have won their last three home games against Perth Glory, two of them 2-0, the other 2-1. Another 2-0 home win on Friday night is priced at 13.00.

Glory on a roll

Glory maybe having issues away from the pitch, but there are certainly no problems on it at the moment following seven points from nine.

A win at Western Sydney Wanderers followed by a point at Macarthur FC, appears to have cured their travel sickness, and they need to keep it going.

The way they came from behind to beat Melbourne City 4-2 in Perth at the weekend, should also have boosted confidence.

Glory have had no issues scoring this season and they have shared the workload around in recent games.

However Adam Taggart remains the main man with nine goals this season. He grabbed another against Melbourne City and is priced at 7.00 to score first in Adelaide.

Taggart also scored a brace the last time the two sides met in April 2023. That game finished 4-4 and we could be in for another high-scoring affair.

Over 2.5 goals can be backed at 1.33, while both teams to score is available at 1.36.
