A-League: Wanderers back on track

Western Sydney Wanderers look to be back on track following two wins on the bounce, and they need another against Brisbane Roar on Friday.

The wheels looked to have fallen off the Wanderers wagon, but they are now back in the box seat to make the top six.

There is still work to be done for Marko Rudan’s side but they sit sixth going into the game and can be backed at 1.26 to play finals.

Brisbane Roar are eight points behind the Wanderers and need a minor miracle to force their way into finals.

However, while there is still a glimmer of hope, Brisbane will battle on and are capable of getting a result at CommBank Stadium.

Wanderers rediscover form

The Wanderers hit a season low when they were smashed 7-0 by Melbourne City, but they have dusted themselves down and come back fighting.

They bounced back with two wins on the road against Perth Glory and Macarthur FC, and are now back on home soil to face Roar.

But that may not be a good thing considering they have not won at CommBank Stadium since 1st January.

The last two home games have also seen them lose 4-1 to Sydney FC and 3-1 against Western United, so they will be keen to break the home drought.

Wanderers have also failed to beat Brisbane in the last six attempts, with the two sides fighting out a 2-2 draw at Suncorp Stadium in December.

Indeed four of the last six games have ended in a draw, three of which finished 1-1.

Another 1-1 draw on Friday night can be backed at 8.50.

Nicolas Milanovic got his name on the scoresheet in the 3-1 win over Macarthur and will look to do the same Friday.

The forward can be backed at 6.00 to score the first goal or 2.50 to bag at anytime.

Roar on the slide

Brisbane Roar have seen their top six hopes slide away after losing the last two games. Indeed they have won just one game in the last five.

The games have been close however, with just one goal in it. That was again the case when they lost 1-0 away at ladder-leaders Wellington Phoenix.

They do have a good record against the Wanderers though and beat them 4-2 in the Australia Cup last September.

Thomas Waddingham scored on that night and is likely to be Roar’s biggest threat once again. He is 3.20 to score at anytime.

The games between these two sides are usually high scoring and over 2.5 goals is available at 1.47, while both teams to score is 1.44.
