A-League: Zawada back among the goals for Nix

Wellington Phoenix will be out to consolidate top spot on the A-League ladder when they travel to take on Brisbane Roar on Friday night.

The Nix sit two points clear of Melbourne Victory and can be backed at 5.50 to go on and win the minor premiership. Victory are priced at 3.25.

Brisbane on the other hand are struggling at the wrong end of the table, but have proven they can get a result this season.

In the other game on Friday, Perth Glory, who have been boosted by four points from six on the road, return to HBF Park to face Melbourne City.

City are down in unfamiliar territory in sixth place, seven points behind Phoenix, but can be backed at 4.00 to win the grand final.

Phoenix are unbeaten in the last four games but are on a run of win one, draw one, heading into the game against Brisbane.

They have won their last two games on the road against Newcastle Jets and Perth Glory, so their form outside of Wellington has not been an issue.

Oskar Zawada was back on the scoresheet in the 2-1 win over the Jets, and after breaking the goal drought, he will be keen to kick on again.

The Polish striker can be backed at 2.40 to score at anytime, while Kosta Barbarouses, who has been in great form, is 3.50.

Wellington are unbeaten in the last five games against Brisbane and have won on their last two trips to Suncorp Stadium.

There have been plenty of goals in the last two meetings and over 2.5 goals in the game on Friday can be backed at 1.57.

Brisbane continue to struggle and have lost four of their last five games.

Their one victory during that run did come on home soil when they beat Newcastle 3-2, only to lose the next home game against Macarthur 3-1.

Perth Glory should take plenty of confidence from their last two games, which have both been away from home.

They tend to struggle outside of Perth but have beaten Western Sydney Wanderers 2-1 and drawn 2-2 with Macarthur.

Adam Taggart has been the main man in front of goal this season, but David Williams has also stepped up to the plate, scoring in each of the last two games.

Williams can be backed at 4.33 to score at anytime against City, while Taggart is 2.87 to get back among the goals.

Melbourne City have won on their last two trips to HBF Park, including a 2-1 win back in December.

They also won the game before 4-2, and over 2.5 goals in Friday’s game is available at 1.47, while both teams to score is priced 1.50.

City have struggled for consistency and did slip to two defeats on the bounce before beating Adelaide United 1-0 at the weekend.

Jamie MacLaren is always a goal threat and is priced at 3.60 to score the first goal of the game.
