Aaron Hardie is one of a number of highly promising all-rounders in Australian cricket and he has already shown glimpses of what he can do in both 50 and 20-over international cricket.
The 25-year-old has played 18 times for the Baggy Greens already, but has yet to have an opportunity to really show what he can do with the bat, as he averages in excess of 40 in first-class cricket, with three centuries to his name.
Hardie is currently under consideration for a Test debut in the upcoming series at home to Australia, with Cameron Green ruled out by back problems and Mitchell Marsh’s bowling status far from certain.

Hardie made his one-day international debut against South Africa in Bloemfontein in early September 2023 and marked the occasion with two wickets, before playing a limited bowling role in the three-match series at home to West Indies.
He then made the most of an opportunity to shine when Australia headed to the UK in September of 2024, featuring in four of the five ODIs against England.
Hardie extracted bounce and pace in most of his spells and was fairly economical across all four matches, taking two wickets at both Headingley and Bristol.
His 2-26 from eight overs in Leeds was an outstanding return in a game which the tourists won by 68 runs, while his 2-38 at Bristol contributed to a 49-run (DLS) success which clinched a 3-2 series victory.
Hardie has not been afforded too many chances to make a major impression with the bat in his ODI appearances to date, but there was a glimpse of his undoubted talent in the series in England.
In the third match of the series at Chester-le-Street, Hardie smacked a quickfire 44 from 26 balls faced, hitting three fours and two sixes to show what he can do when offered time to get going.
Hardie first appeared on the international stage in a Twenty20 international against South Africa in Durban in late August 2023 and he has yet to put in any big performances in 10 T20I appearances to date.
Before going wicketless in his last appearance against England, he had taken at least one wicket in six matches in a row, with his best return 2-18 against Scotland in Edinburgh.
He has also proved to be economical with the ball, going for less than seven runs an over in four of his last six matches.
With the bat his best effort to date came on debut when he clattered 23 from 14 balls faced against the Proteas, smashing three fours and a six in a 111-run victory for the Aussies.
Hardie's most recent knock was his next best effort, as he made 20 not out from just nine balls against England in Cardiff, with his ability with the bat still something of an untapped resource on the international stage.
