Adelaide v Melbourne: AFL Sunday preview

Adelaide will continue the push for a spot in the top four when they take on struggling Melbourne at the Adelaide Oval.

The Crows returned to winning ways last week and now sit in third spot on the ladder with their destiny in their own hands.

It is very tight however, with four teams, including Adelaide, all sat on 40 points.

Four points against Melbourne is an absolute must, and on current form, they should get the job done with ease.

Melbourne have lost the last four games on the bounce and have seen their top-eight hopes disappear in the process.

They do have a good record against Adelaide, but it will be a big surprise if they topple the Crows in their own back yard.

Crows flying high

Adelaide were back to their blistering best as they amassed 122 points when blowing Richmond away last week.

It was the result they needed after losing to Hawthorn the week before, and are now firmly back on track.

They have piled on some big points in recent weeks and will be looking to do the same against the Demons.

The Crows can be backed at 5.50 to beat the Demons by 25-36 points.

Riley Thilthorpe continues to shine for the Crows this season, and booted another five goals against the Tigers.

The forward can be backed at 9.50 to score the first or last goal or 1.07 to score at anytime.

Melbourne on the slide

Melbourne are on the slide after losing the last four games and desperately need to show something to give the fans some hope for the future.

They have won the last three games against the Crows, but on current form it is tough to see them making it four.

The Demons won by 15 points in Adelaide last season, but a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then.

Even so, they can still be backed at 8.00 to snatch a time game by 1-12 points, and shocks can happen in the AFL.

Jake Melksham booted five goals last week and will to carry that form into Sunday.

He can be backed at 15.00 to kick the first goal.
