Adelaide v Brisbane: AFL Friday preview

Adelaide will be out to consolidate their place in the top four of the AFL when they take on Brisbane on Friday.

The Crows are having an impressive season, sitting third on the ladder with eight wins from 12 games.

However their record against the top sides has not been great, winning just one game out of four against current top-eight teams.

They now get the chance to reverse that trend against a Brisbane side that sit one place above them on the ladder.

The Lions head into the game on the back of two wins, but a trip to the Adelaide Oval will represent a big test for them.

There has been no more than 11 points between the two sides in the last three games, and another tight battle could be on the cards.

Crows on the rise

Adelaide are well on the way to a top-four spot this season, but they cannot afford to take the foot off the gas.

They wracked up a massive 90-point win over Sydney in the last game, and now need to take that kind of form into the clash with Brisbane.

Josh Rachele and Ben Keays were both in good form against the Swans when booting three goals each.

Rachele can be backed at 12.00 to boot the first or last goal, or 1.17 to score at anytime in the game.

Adelaide have already knocked over the Lions this season, beating them by three points at the Gabba in Round 1.

They are now out to do the double and are priced at 6.00 to win by 1-12 points.

Lions set for tough test

Brisbane overcame a scare to edge out Essendon in the last game, and their form has been indifferent in recent weeks.

A loss against Melbourne and a draw with North Melbourne, has shown they can be vulnerable, and a trip to Adelaide will be a tough test.

Their last trip their in Round 9 2024 saw them held to a rare 90-90 draw.

Another battle looks to be on the cards and they are 5.50 to win by 1-12 points.

Lachie Neale will be key to Brisbane’s chances of leaving South Australia with a win.

He is averaging just under 27 disposals a game this season, and can be backed at 1.28 to collect 30+ disposals against Adelaide.

Kai Lohmann was back among the goals against Essendon when kicking three.

He is priced at 1.67 to back that up by scoring another at anytime.
