Adelaide v Geelong: AFL Thursday Preview

Gather Round is here for 2025 with Adelaide and Geelong getting proceedings underway on Thursday night at the Adelaide Oval.

The whole competition will play in South Australia for Gather Round, which has so far proven to be a huge success.

Adelaide suffered their first defeat of the season when losing by just one point against the Suns on the Gold Coast.

They will be delighted to be back on home soil against the Cats and will be out to put the disappointment behind them.

Geelong snapped a two-game losing streak against Melbourne, and it is important they get another result if they are to push for the top four this season.

It is sure to be a bumper four days of AFL action in South Australia, and no better place to start than under the lights at a packed Adelaide Oval.

Crows look to bounce back

Adelaide got the season off to a flyer when winning their opening three games in convincing fashion before being stopped in their tracks.

The Crows found themselves on the wrong end of a thriller as they went down 91-90 at the Gold Coast Suns on Saturday.

There is no time to feel sorry for themselves however as they have a quick turnaround ahead of Thursday night’s clash.

Despite the loss, there were still plenty of positives, with Riley Thilthorpe kicking five goals in the game.

He will look to carry that form in to the Cats games and is 10.00 to kick the first of the game, or 1.07 to score at anytime.

Jordan Dawson also starred with 31 disposals and is 2.50 to collect 30+ against Geelong.

Adelaide have lost the last three games against Geelong, but appear to be a different animal in 2025.

Henry blow for Cats

Geelong have been hit by the news that influential defender Jack Henry will be missing for up to four weeks through injury.

Henry picked up the hamstring injury in the win over Melbourne on Friday night and is now set for a spell out, starting against Adelaide.

It took the shine off Geelong’s second win of the season, which saw them demolish the Demons by 39 points.

Patrick Dangerfield stood out with three goals and 20 disposals and is 1.33 to score at anytime against the Crows.

Geelong won their last trip to the Adelaide Oval by 19 points, and can be backed at 7.00 to win by 13-24 once again.
