Brisbane can begin their premiership defence with three straight wins if they can overcome Geelong on Saturday.
The clash was originally scheduled to be played in the Opening Round, before Hurricane Alfred hit Queensland to force a postponement.
The Lions have since gone on to win two games on the bounce, while the Cats have won one and lost one.
Brisbane will be delighted to have started with two wins despite not being at their best. Geelong on the other hand will be desperate to respond after a bad loss at St Kilda.
This also a rematch of last season’s preliminary final, when there was little to choose between the two sides.
That is usually the case, and another tight battle looks to be on the cards at the Gabba.
Brisbane were not at their best against West Coast Eagles at the weekend, but still did enough to get the job done.
They also edged past Sydney by just four points in Round 1, so there is plenty of improvement to come from Chris Fagan’s side.
Geelong will be a tough test for them and they will be out to move their game up a couple of notches.
The Lions have won two of the last three games against the Cats, with 11 points being the biggest winning margin.
If it is to be close again, Brisbane can be backed at 6.00 to win by 1-12 points.
Lachie Neale was back to his best against the Eagles with 35 touches, and he will be keen to carry that form on.
Neale can be backed at 2.90 to collect 35+ disposals against the Cats.
Geelong got the season off to a flyer when smashing Fremantle by 78 points, but it all went wrong against St Kilda the week after.
A seven-point loss brought them crashing back down to earth, and they will need to pick themselves up once again.
In Round 6 last season they did travel to the Gabba to win by 26 points, and will take plenty of heart from that win.
They would take a narrow win on Saturday, and can be backed at 5.50 to nick the game by 1-12 points.
As long as they have Jeremy Cameron in the side they are always in with a chance of kicking heaps of goals.
The gun forward is 11.00 to grab the first or 1.14 to score at any time.
