Carlton will be out to avoid a third straight defeat when they welcome the Western Bulldogs to Marvel Stadium on Friday night.

Once again, hopes and expectations among the Carlton faithful were high heading into the new season, but so far the team have failed to deliver.

A shock loss to Richmond Tigers was followed by a home defeat against Hawthorn, and now they are in danger of suffering a 0-3 start.

Carlton get the chance to put things right when they face the Bulldogs, but they have lost the last two games against them.

The Bulldogs will also look to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the season against Collingwood in Round 2.

The last three meetings have all been tight, and there is a good chance it will be the same on Friday night.

Carlton must tame Bulldogs

Carlton have got off to another slow start, losing their opening two games, and they are in need of the four points against the Bulldogs.

The Blues faithful are desperate for their side to snap the premiership drought, and were hoping 2025 could be the year.

There is plenty time to turn things around, but they can ill-afford another defeat.

The latest setback saw them lose by 20 points against Hawthorn at the MCG, when even the return of gun forward Charlie Curnow could not help them.

Amazingly Curnow failed to kick a goal and will be determined to put that right against the Bulldogs.

Curnow is 8.50 to kick the first goal of the game, and 1.05 to score at anytime.

Patrick Cripps once again starred in midfield with 29 disposals, and is priced at 1.87 to collect 30+ against the doggies.

Bulldogs look to bounce back

Western Bulldogs started the season with a 113-97 win over North Melbourne, before losing by six points against Collingwood at the weekend.

They will look to bounce back against Carlton, a side they have beaten on the last two occasions.

There has been no more than 20 points separating the two sides in the last three meetings, and it could be a close one again.

The Bulldogs can be backed at 6.00 to win by either 1-12 points or 13-24 points.

Head coach Luke Beveridge has been boosted by the news that both Liam Jones and James O’Donnell are available for selection.

The return of Jones in particular will be crucial as the Bulldogs look to nullify the threat of star Carlton forwards Curnow and Harry McKay.
