The Coleman Medal is awarded to the AFL player who kicks the most goals during a regular season and it looks set to be a close battle in 2025.
Kicking goals is harder than it looks and not only requires great skill, but also the ability to handle the big pressure moments when your team needs you.
Dick Lee holds the record for winning the Coleman Medal the most times, with seven to his name.
Carlton's Charlie Curnow has been the main man in recent seasons, winning the Coleman Medal in 2022 and 2023, however, he was stopped in his tracks in 2024 by Greater Western Sydney star Jesse Hogan.
The duo look sure to be in the mix again, but it is unlikely to be a two-horse race.
Let's take a look at the main contenders with the 2025 season fast approaching.
Charlie Curnow (Carlton) - 5.00
Carlton forward Charlie Curnow may have missed out on the three-peat in 2024, but as long as he stays injury free he is sure to come roaring back in 2025.
Curnow was well-placed to win the Coleman Medal last season before injury struck, ruling him out of some big games.
Even so he was still averaging just under three goals a game and, with Carlton tipped to have a big season, Curnow looks sure to be in the mix.
He kicked 59 goals last season, five shy of his best ever return of 64 goals in a campaign.
Jesse Hogan (GWS) - 6.50
Jesse Hogan had an outstanding season in 2024 when booting 69 goals on his way to claiming the Coleman Medal.
The Greater Western Sydney gun finally came of age following a difficult time at former club Fremantle and he will be desperate to carry that form into the new season.
If GWS can stay in the hunt for the premiership this season then Hogan will have plenty of opportunities in front of goal.
He kept his cool last season and 2025 should be no different.
Jeremy Cameron (Geelong) - 10.00
Jeremy Cameron finished second in the standings in 2024, nine goals behind Hogan, and will hope to go one better this season.
He also booted 59 goals in the 2022 season, finishing third, as Geelong went on to win the grand final.
There is no doubting his quality and Cameron will kicking goals for fun once again.
Josh Treacy (Fremantle) - 21.00
Talented Fremantle forward Josh Treacy could be the dark horse to win the Coleman Medal in 2025.
Treacy was in great form in 2024 when booting 45 goals, before injuries caught up on him towards the end of the season.
His absence was a big blow to the Dockers, as without his goals they slipped down the ladder and missed out on finals altogether.
However, Fremantle are tipped to push for the top four in 2025 and Treacy is sure to have a massive part to play.
