Collingwood v West Coast: AFL Saturday preview

Collingwood should continue their march towards the minor premiership when they take on West Coast at the MCG.

The Pies have a 12-2 record for the season so far to sit six points clear at the top of the ladder, and they will take some catching.

They picked up a convincing win against St Kilda last week, and should dish out the same to the Eagles in Round 16.

It will be the shock of the season if the injury-ravaged Eagles can leave Melbourne with all four points in the bag.

After picking up their first win of the season against St Kilda, they went on to lose the next four, as normal service resumed.

Collingwood have thrashed West Coast in the last two meetings, and will be out to do the same again on Saturday.

Pies back in form

Collingwood had a scare in their last game before the bye, but managed to get the job done against Melbourne.

They were back to their best last week against St Kilda, winning by 34 points, and will be out for a big win against West Coast.

In the last two meetings against the Eagles, they have scored 66 and 63 points respectively.

An even bigger win could be on the cards this weekend, with Collingwood 2.60 to win by 73+ points.

Jamie Elliott booted another two goals against St Kilda, and is priced at 7.00 to boot the first or last goal against West Coast.

Nick Daicos is another that continues to shine, averaging 30 disposals a game this season.

West Coast are weighing up whether or not to tag the gun midfielder, but he is still 1.65 to collect 30+ this weekend.

Eagles look to fly early

West Coast have a bad habit of starting games slowly, and they need to reverse that trend to have any chance of giving Collingwood a game.

The Eagles can be backed at 6.00 to come flying out of the blocks and win the first quarter by 1-18 points.

Their job is made even harder with the loss of Oscar Allen and Jake Waterman for the rest of the season, while Jeremy McGovern has retired.

Big shocks do happen in the AFL however, and West Coast are 29.00 to win by 1-12 points.
