AFL: Gather Round set for super Saturday

Five of the top eight are in action on Saturday, with Fremantle, Carlton and Geelong looking to continue their perfect start to the 2024 AFL campaign.

Fremantle have impressed when winning their opening three games and can be backed at 3.75 to finish in the top four this season.

But they will face their biggest test yet when they face a Carlton side, who are also unbeaten, and can be backed at 7.50 to win the grand final.

Geelong will also be looking to move on to 4-0 for the season when they take on a Bulldogs side that have won the last two games.

And to get Saturday underway, Sydney should bounce back from their first defeat of the season when they play West Coast at Adelaide Hills.

Gather Round continues with a jam packed day of action and the footy should be exciting.

Swans look to bounce back

. What: West Coast v Sydney
. Where: Adelaide Hills, Mt Barker
. When: 12:30 (AEST), Saturday 6th April 2024
. How to watch: Foxtel, Kayo, Channel 7
. Odds: West Coast 12.00, Sydney 1.03

Sydney suffered their first defeat of the season when going down at Richmond last week, but get a great chance to bounce back against the Eagles.

The Swans will have to do it without captain Callum Mills, while Luke Parker and Dayne Rampe are also missing from the side.

They do have some experience in the form of Jake Lloyd, who produced 32 disposals in the defeat against the Tigers.

Lloyd can be backed at 5.50 to produce 30+ once again on Saturday.

West Coast have lost all three games so far and suffered a heavy 76-point defeat against Western Bulldogs last week.

It could be another tough afternoon for them and the Swans are 3.25 to win by 73+ points.

Unbeaten starts on the line

. What: Fremantle v Carlton
. Where: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
. When: 15:20 (AEST), Saturday 6th April 2024
. How to watch: Foxtel, Kayo, Channel 7
. Odds: Fremantle 2.20, Carlton 1.68

Fremantle and Carlton are both 3-0 for the season so far, but something will have to give at the Adelaide Oval.

The Dockers have had injury issues, but have still been very impressive, particularly in midfield, where Caleb Serong has stood out.

Michael Walters also booted a couple of goals in the win over Adelaide and will need to step up to the plate once again.

The small forward can be backed at 15.00 to kick the first goal of the game.

Carlton have won the last two meetings between the two sides by 53 points and 31 points respectively.

It should be closer on Saturday, but the Blues are still priced at 6.00 to win by 1-12 points.

Bulldogs face tough test

. What: Western Bulldogs v Geelong
. Where: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
. When: 19:10 (AEST), Saturday 6th April 2024
. How to watch: Foxtel, Kayo, Channel 7
. Odds: Western Bulldogs 2.02, Geelong 1.80

The Bulldogs have bounced back well from a round one defeat to win the next two, but face a tough test against the Cats, who sit 3-0.

Marcus Bontempelli will be key for the Bulldogs following a relatively quiet game against the Eagles with just 16 disposals. The skipper is 2.15 to bounce back with 30+ against Geelong.

Tom Hawkins is showing no signs of slowing down as he booted four goals in the win over Hawthorn last weekend.

The veteran forward is 9.00 to kick the first goal and 1.06 to score at anytime.

Geelong are 6.00 to win by 13-24 points.
