Giants out to make strong start

After a horror end to 2024 when they crashed out of finals, Greater Western Sydney will be desperate to get off to s strong start.

The opening round last season they beat Collingwood by 32 points and would gladly take the same again.

They can be backed at 9.50 to win by 25-36 points.

GWS have been hit by a triple injury blow however, with new recruit Jake Stringer missing along with gun forward Jesse Hogan and also Tom Green.

Toby Greene will again skipper the side and the Giants will be relying on him to have a big season.

Greene can be backed at 13.00 to kick the first goal of the game, or 1.24 to score at anytime during the game.

Pies expected to impress

Collingwood are expected to bounce back in style in 2025 and it is important that they start well.

They suffered a massive grand final hangover last season and, after making a horror start, never recovered from it.

The Pies will be missing Dan Houston through suspension and Jordan De Goey due to injury, but will still be able to put out a strong side.

Harry Perryman is set to make his debut against his former club and big things are expected of the versatile midfielder.

The 26-year-old will be keen to put on a show and can be backed at 2.55 to collect 25+ disposals.

Collingwood have won two of the last three meetings between the two sides, but both where at the MCG and they now need to do it in Sydney.
