AFL: No room for Swans complacency

Sydney have started the season strongly with two wins and will be out for number three on Saturday evening.

The Swans have already beaten Melbourne and Collingwood and can be backed at 7.00 to go on and win the grand final in 2024.

But there can be no room for complacency when they take on the Bombers.

The same can be said for Fremantle when they travel to take on North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium in the opening game of the day.

There is also a big derby to look forward to at the MCG when Hawthorn and Melbourne go head to head.

The Demons are 9.50 to win the premiership, and have won one, lost one so far this season.

Fremantle impressed with a 23-point win over Brisbane at Optus Stadium last week, but they have been hit by a number of injuries to key players.

Brennan Cox and Oscar McDonald are both looking at extended time in the treatment room and the Dockers look set to field some debutantes at Marvel.

Caleb Serong was outstanding against Brisbane with 46 disposals and can be backed at 8.50 to produce 40+ against the Kangaroos.

North Melbourne lost by 39 points against GWS last week and will be out to bounce back. They did beat Fremantle by one point at Optus last season, and another upset cannot be ruled out.

They are 6.00 to win by 1-12 points.

Melbourne bounced back for an opening round defeat against Sydney to thump the Western Bulldogs last start.

Jacob Van Rooyen chipped in with three goals during the win and is priced at 10.00 to boot the first of the game.

Melbourne can be backed at 5.00 to beat Hawthorn by 25-36 points.

The Hawks lost by 24 points at Essendon last week and will find it tough against the Demons as the rebuild continues.

Sydney on the up

. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel,
. Odds: Sydney 1.18, Essendon 5.00

Sydney have started the season in fine form when beating two premiership contenders, but they must now kick on against the Bombers.

Logan McDonald showed there is life after Lance Franklin when kicking four goals against Collingwood last week.

The forward is 1.11 to kick another at anytime, or 11.00 to get the first of the game against Essendon.

Essendon began the season with victory over Hawthorn and will be out to make more progress at the SCG.

Recent games between the two sides have been very close and the Bombers can be backed at 8.50 to cause an upset and sneak this one by 1-12 points.
