Sydney will need four points against the Western Bulldogs on Friday night if they are to continue their push for a place in the top eight.

The Swans' finals hopes looked to be floundering, but back-to-back wins have got them back on track ahead of the Friday night clash.

A clash against the Bulldogs will be a tough test of their AFL finals credentials, and nothing other than a win will do.

The Bulldogs sit inside the eight but have their eyes on the top four and need the victory just as badly.

They have tended to struggle against finals contenders so far this season and a win at the SCG would give them a boost for the rest of the season.

The Bulldogs can also take heart from the fact they picked up a convincing win on their last trip to take on the Swans.

Swans are back on track

Wins on the road against Port Adelaide and Richmond have given the Swans a much-needed boost, but they need to keep it going against the Bulldogs.

They were also hammered by 90 points in their last home game against Adelaide and will be desperate to repay the supporters after that horror show.

The Swans beat Port by 19 points at the weekend, but it would have been more convincing had they been more accurate in front of goal.

They will need to take their chances against the Bulldogs, and Joel Amartey will look to bounce back after drawing a blank and kicking six behinds against Port.

Amartey can be backed at 15.00 to kick the first goal of the game, or 1.27 to score at anytime.

Chad Warner is going well and is averaging 22 disposals a game so far this season.

He will be making his 100th AFL appearance this weekend and is 1.36 to collect 20+ disposals in the game.

Bulldogs pile on the points

The Bulldogs have scored over 130 points in the last two wins over Richmond and St Kilda to take themselves up to eighth on the ladder.

However, the jury is still out on the Bulldogs as they suffered defeats to Hawthorn and Geelong in the two games before that.

A win over Sydney at the SCG would be viewed as a scalp and they can be backed at 5.50 to win the game by 13-24 points.

Marcus Bontempelli was at the top of his game as he gathered 36 disposals and also booted three goals in the win over Richmond.

The Dogs skipper can be backed at 1.52 to kick another goal at anytime, while he is 1.65 to collect 25+ disposals.
