Western Bulldogs v St Kilda: AFL Sunday preview

Western Bulldogs will attempt to snap a two-game AFL losing streak when they entertain St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.

After winning two of their opening three games, the Bulldogs have hit a stumbling block and will be desperate to get back to winning ways.

So too will Saints, who lost on home soil to Greater Western Sydney last weekend.

Before the loss to the Giants, St Kilda had won three on the bounce and currently sit just outside the top eight on the AFL ladder.

Marvel Stadium is the home ground for both of these sides, so is unlikely to provide much of an advantage to the Bulldogs, who are nominally the home team.

However, Luke Beveridge’s side have won two of the last three meetings between the two sides, so may have the edge.

Bont back for the Bulldogs

Western Bulldogs have been handed a massive boost with the news that skipper Marcus Bontempelli is set to return to action.

Bontempelli is a massive player for the Bulldogs and is priced at 13.00 to mark his return by booting the first goal of the game.

However, it is Sam Darcy who has been the most prolific in front of goal, averaging just under three goals a game.

The youngster is sure to be in the mix again and is priced at 8.00 to kick the first or last goal, or 1.025 to score at anytime.

Tom Liberatore has also been in fine form this season and is priced at 2.50 to collect 30+ disposals.

The Bulldogs have secured victory in each of their last seven games at Marvel Stadium and are 5.50 to win this one by 13-24 points.

Saints seek response to GWS loss

St Kilda also enjoy playing at Marvel Stadium, losing just one of the last nine games at the venue.

They did lose by 28 points against Greater Western Sydney last week but showed great spirit to fight back late on in that defeat.

Their confidence should not have taken too much of a battering and they will expect to give the Bulldogs a run for their money on Sunday.

St Kilda are priced at 6.00 to win a tight game by 1-12 points.

Saints will need to get the game off to a strong start and they can be backed at 2.70 to win the first quarter by 1-18 points.

Jack Macrae is averaging 29 disposals this season and is priced at 1.65 to collect 30+ against the Bulldogs.
