The ATP Finals take place in Turin starting on Monday 10th November and for the first time since 2004 there is an Australian singles player among the elite eight-player field who will battle it out for the title.
Alex de Minaur is the man in question, with his place confirmed after defending champion Novak Djokovic withdrew due to injury, a move which also meant that Casper Ruud and Andrey Rublev would head to Turin.
The field is completed by Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev and Taylor Fritz, with Zverev and Medvedev the only previous winners involved.
Jannik Sinner - 2.25
Carlos Alcaraz - 3.00
Alexander Zverev - 7.50
Daniil Medvedev - 10.00
Taylor Fritz - 17.00
Andrey Rublev - 21.00
Alex de Minaur - 21.00
Casper Ruud - 41.00
Jannik Sinner - 2.25
World number one Jannik Sinner has enjoyed a magnificent 2024, winning both the Australian Open and the US Open to mark himself out as the dominant force on hard courts.
He has won three of his last four tournaments and lost in the final of the other - to Carlos Alcaraz in Beijing - so he arrives in superb form and well rested, having not played since beating Djokovic in the Shanghai Masters final.
Sinner made his ATP Final debut as an injury replacement in 2021 and marked his bow with a 6-2 6-2 win over Hubert Hurkacz, while in 2023 he made it all the way to the final before losing out 6-3 6-3 to Djokovic.
Alexander Zverev - 7.50
Second in the rankings for the Race To Turin is German ace Alexander Zverev, who may still be hunting a first Grand Slam, but who is a two-time winner of the ATP Finals, having taken the honours in both 2018 and 2021.
Zverev is also the 2020 Olympic champion and he has enjoyed a fine 2024, reaching the semi-finals at the Australian Open and then the French Open final, where his second Grand Slam final ended in a five-set defeat to Spanish star Alcaraz.
He comes into the season finale on the back of victory at the Paris Masters, where he roared to the title having lost just one set across his five matches.
Carlos Alcaraz - 3.00
Like Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz has had a standout 2024, claiming the French Open title before successfully defending his Wimbledon crown to take his career tally to four Grand Slam victories.
However, his recent form is not so impressive, with a second-round defeat to Botic van de Zandschulp at the US Open a major shock, although he responded by winning in Beijing, where he beat Sinner in the final.
His last two tournaments have seen him lose to Tomas Machac in the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters and then go down to Ugo Humbert in the last-16 of the Paris Masters, so he is not in as good a shape as Sinner or Zverev it would seem.
Alex de Minaur - 21.00
The absence of Djokovic took the pressure off Alex de Minaur, as well as Ruud and Rublev, with the Australian taking the decision to withdraw from the Belgrade Open to rest up ahead of the Turin showpiece.
The 25-year-old will be hoping to emulate Lleyton Hewitt, who was the last Australian singles player to feature at the ATP Finals, reaching the final itself back in 2004 - having claimed the title in both 2001 and 2002.
De Minaur has suffered a number of injury problems during 2024, but has still enjoyed the most successful season of his career to date.
He reached the quarter-finals of the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open, but fitness issues ensured that he went no further at either SW19 or Flushing Meadows.
The Sydney native has winning records against Fritz, Rublev and Ruud, but has not won any of his nine matches against either Sinner or Alcaraz.
