Australia and England are finally set to meet again in a rugby league Ashes series after plans were announced for a three-match match-up to take place in 2025.
The two sides saw a potential series back in 2020 cancelled, while the upcoming series had initially been planned to take place Down Under, before being switched when Australia stepped in to host the Rugby League World Cup in late 2026.
The last time the two teams met in an Ashes series was way back in 2003, when Great Britain took to the field against the Kangaroos in Bolton, Hull and Huddersfield and were whitewashed 3-0 on home soil.
The exact schedule for the three-match series has yet to be confirmed, but it is expected to feature one Test in London one Test in Lancashire and one Test in Yorkshire.
With the domestic Super League running until October, the series is likely to take place in late 2025.
With one Test set to take place in the English capital, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Wembley Stadium have been mentioned as potential venues.
A Lancashire Test immediately brings to mind the prospect of an Old Trafford showdown in Manchester, while possible Yorkshire venues include Headingley and Elland Road in Leeds and the MKM Stadium in Hull.
Broadcast details for the series have yet to be announced, with the dates of the games yet to be confirmed.
Australia have faced England and Great Britain well over 150 times through the years, with the GB team splitting apart before the 1995 World Cup took place, but still coming together for tours and several Tri-Nations series involving Australia and New Zealand.
The first meeting of Australia and GB took place in London in December 1908 and end in a 22-22 draw.
The two teams met in the final of the 1995 World Cup, with the Kangaroos claiming an 18-6 victory at Wembley thanks to tries from Rod Wishart and Tim Brasher, as well four goals from Andrew Johns.
The pair would face each other in the 2017 World Cup final, when Australia edged a dour contest in Brisbane 6-0 thanks to a converted try from Boyd Cordner.
There are no odds currently available for the series, with its schedule and venues yet to be announced.
