Somebodytolove to record Sale success

The fifth race of the day at Sale is a 1423m Benchmark 64 handicap expected to take place on a soft 5 track.

Superset is likely to have his supporters for trainer Shawn Mathric,k having placed second at metro-level on his penultimate start.

The gelding was beaten a length when contesting a 1200m Benchmark 64 handicap held on a good 3 track that day.

However, the five-year-old failed to shine when finishing a well-beaten fifth of seven on a soft 5 surface in a similar contest back at Moonee Valley subsequently.

SOMEBODYTOLOVE is preferred on this occasion, with Grahame Begg’s filly having registered a good first up effort when fourth at Cranbourne.

This selection was beaten just over three lengths in finishing fourth in a 1200m Class 1 handicap held on a good 3 track on that occasion.

The four-year-old went on to double her career tally when saluting in impressive fashion over 1400m at Werribee at the end of last month.

This daughter of More Than Ready had over two lengths to spare over her nearest pursuer on that occasion and she is unlikely to have any issues stepping up in grade.

In-form apprentice Stephanie Hateley, on board that day, is again set to ride and the pair look capable of recording their second win together.

Exclusive Artist to deliver Kembla Grange win

The penultimate race at Kembla Grange is a 1500m Class 1 handicap.

Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott’s stable are set to saddle likely favourite Rumbling Night, who has been given a break since delivering an impressive win at Newcastle in November.

The gelding came home seven-and-a-half-lengths clear of his rivals when contesting a 1500m maiden held on a good 4 track that day.

This three-year-old demonstrated a marked improvement in form that day having debuted with an eighth of nine in a 1300m maiden at Hawkesbury earlier that month.

The switch to racing from the front at Newcastle appeared to suit and, while he has failed to make much of an impact in two trials in the last month, he rates highly in this event.

Conceding weight to the filly EXCLUSIVE ARTIST may prove too much, with the pick having shown good form in her two starts to date.

The daughter of Trapeze Artist debuted with a good second when contesting a 1280m maiden at Muswellbrook in September.

Racing prominently, the filly was beaten just under three-and-a-half-lengths on that occasion and she was spelled by connections following that effort.

Trained by Annabel Neasham & Rob Archibald, the youngster broke through for her first win when competing in a 1200m maiden at this venue earlier this month.

Exclusive Artist raced on a good 4 track that day and similar underfoot conditions are expected for this race.

Apprentice Mollie Fitzgerald, on board here last time, is again set to ride and her mount is taken to register back-to-back wins.

Highly Tempted for Taree victory

A soft 5 track is expected at Taree, with the fifth race of the day a 1400m Benchmark 58 handicap.

Tony Ball’s HIGHLY TEMPTED takes the eye here having registered placed efforts in each of his last four starts.

Those starts include a length second when contesting a 1300m Class 1 handicap at this venue on his penultimate start.

Highly Tempted raced on a soft 5 track that day and, while he failed to shine when last of three over 1400m at Warwick Farm subsequently, that effort did come at metro level.

The gelding is a versatile type with regard to tactics and with that in mind expect him to be ridden cold jumping from a double figure barrier.

Apprentice Siena Grima takes the ride here and her mount is taken to record his second win of the season.
