There are four meetings set to take place on Wednesday, including at Sandown where an eight-race metro card is scheduled.
Capulet @ 6.50
Impunity @ 7.00
Godzilla @ 3.60
They are set to race on the Lakeside course at Sandown with the sixth race of the day a 2100m Benchmark 70 handicap.
John Sadler is set to saddle Tarvue here, with the filly arriving on the back of a victory over 1600m at Pakenham.
Tarvue won by a length when contesting a Benchmark 64 handicap held on a good 4 surface on that occasion, having finished down the field at Sale first up this prep.
The four-year-old resumed over 1400m at Sale and appeared to appreciate the extra distance at Pakenham.
Damian Lane is an eye-catching jockey booking, however, Tarvue is unproven over this distance and preference is for CAPULET.
The daughter of Extreme Choice has won twice this season, including when stepping up to 2000m for a Benchmark 64 handicap at Mornington in December.
Capulet came home nearly a length clear of her rivals that day and she has registered solid efforts over 2040m at Moonee Valley on both subsequent starts.
The most recent of those efforts saw her finish seventh, beaten just over four lengths in a Benchmark 64 handicap last month.
Trained by Tony & Calvin McEvoy, the blinkers worn in recent starts are replaced with a visor for the first time here and the four-year-old is taken to record her fifth career win.
The fifth race of the day at Warwick Farm is a 2400m Benchmark 78 handicap expected to take place on a soft 5 surface.
O’Ziggy is expected to jump as favourite for the race, having finished in the first four in all five starts since resuming with a last of five at Newcastle in November.
The gelding recorded a second up success at Hawkesbury and steps up in distance here, having finished second over 2000m at Rosehill on Saturday.
This four-year-old was beaten just under three-and-a-half-lengths that day and, while O’Ziggy holds obvious claims, preference is for IMPUNITY.
Trained by John Thompson, the pick completed a double when successful over 2200m in a Benchmark 64 handicap at this venue in December.
Impunity raced on a good 4 track on that occasion and, while he failed to shine at Rosehill last month, he can be forgiven that disappointing effort.
The four-year-old should have no issue with the forecast soft 5 going, having won a soft 6 surface when taking out a Class 1 set weights event at Hawkesbury three starts back.
Chad Schofield, on board for Impunity’s last two wins, takes the ride here and is taken to record his third win of the season.
A soft 5 track is expected at Ipswich with the fourth race of the day a 1680m Class 2 handicap.
Tony Gollan is set to saddle GODZILLA here, with his gelding having recorded his best effort since joining the trainer with a good third over 1630m at Doomben last month.
Godzilla was racing third up when beaten just over half-a-length in a Restricted 65 handicap held on a good 4 track that day.
The switch to a forecast wet track is a positive, with the gelding having won in impressive fashion on a soft 5 surface at Sale in May last year.
That Sale success came when in the care of Peter & Paul Snowden and, with James Orman up for the first time since joining the Gollan team, Godzilla looks capable of recording a win from barrier seven.
