There are a number of meetings scheduled to take place on Wednesday, including at Kensington and Doomben where metro fixtures are scheduled.
Super Nui @ 3.20
Heman @ 4.20
Shamilian Miss @ 2.40
A soft 7 track is expected at Kensington, with the penultimate race of the day a 1400m Benchmark 72 handicap restricted to fillies & mares.
While she is yet to win in wet conditions, California Sunrise has placed in the top three in five of her seven starts on soft or heavy going.
Those efforts include a narrow defeat when runner-up in a 1250m Benchmark 72 handicap held at this venue on her penultimate start.
The filly raced on heavy going that day but could finish only fifth when beaten over three-and-a-half-lengths in a 1500m event at Rosehill subsequently.
Peter Snowden’s filly rates highly in this field, however, she meets the in-form SUPER NUI who is preferred for the Ron Quinton stable.
The three-year-old is a three-time winner from six starts this prep, with two of those victories coming in wet conditions.
This daughter of Super One came home over eight-lengths clear of her four rivals when contesting a 1350m Benchmark 64 handicap at Wyong on her penultimate start.
Super Nui duly completed a double when successful by nearly three lengths in a nine-runner 1400m Benchmark 68 handicap at Hawkesbury subsequently.
Regular rider Louise Day, on board for both of those efforts, is again set to ride here and barrier eight shouldn’t pose too many issues.
The chestnut filly looks ready for the step up in class and she is taken to record her third consecutive victory.
The seventh race of the day at Doomben is a 1350m Benchmark 85 handicap set to take place on a soft 5 track.
Tuff Tu Miss is the winner of each of his last four starts and he is expected to have his supporters for handler David Vandyke.
The gelding ended his last prep with a victory by nearly two lengths when contesting a 1650m Class 2 handicap at this venue in November.
Shorter distances have posed no issue to the gelding in the past and he resumed with a narrow success in a 1200m Class 3 plate event at Eagle Farm in April.
The four-year-old got home by a narrow margin that day and he arrives here fresh with Ryan Maloney set to ride for the first time.
HEMAN is set to receive two-and-a-half-kilograms here however and he is preferred for Chris & Corey Munce.
The son of I Am Invincible ended his last prep with a victory by nearly a length when contesting a 1350m Class 1 plate event here in January.
While the gelding suffered a defeat when racing here first up this prep, he lost little in defeat in placing second in a six runner 1200m Class 5 event.
Craig Williams’ mount has been allocated an inside barrier for this contest and looks capable of recording his first win on a wet track.
In Western Australia they are set to race at Bunbury where a soft 5 track is expected for their eight-race card.
The finale is a 1705m Class 1 handicap, with SHAMILIAN MISS taking the eye with Brad Parnham set to ride.
Parnham was on board when the filly broke through for her first win in a 1600m maiden at Pinjarra three starts back.
The pick has delivered two solid efforts since, including when one-and-a-half-lengths second in a 1400m Class 1 handicap at Pinjarra last time.
Michael Lane’s filly has jumped from a double figure barrier in three of her last four starts, however, she has fared better with the barrier allocation here.
The daughter of Shamus Award remains open to improvement and is selected to record the second win of her career.
