There are three meetings scheduled to take place on Tuesday with Seymour, Scone and Thangool all set to hold racing action.
Brutalina @ 4.40
Sheila’s Fanta Sea @ 4.00
Papasito @ SP
The seventh race on the Seymour card is a 1300m Benchmark 64 handicap expected to take place on a soft 6 track.
Robbie Griffiths’ Divino Cavallo is set to jump as favourite on her third start back from a spell.
The filly ended her last prep with a victory in an 1100m Benchmark 64 handicap held on good going at Bendigo in December.
This four-year-old has contested metro events in both starts this prep, including over the border at Morphettville when fourth in a 1200m Class 2 contest last time.
The daughter of Pierro raced on a wet track for the first time that day and rates highly in this field.
However, she has to concede weight to her rivals here, including BRUTALINA who remains open to improvement on just her fifth career start.
The three-year-old demonstrated that she handles soft conditions when placing second over 1200m at Ballarat when debuting in September.
Brutalina returned from a spell with a close second in a 1207m maiden held on a sound surface at Kilmore early last month.
Trained by Mick Price & Michael Kent Jr, she went on to break her maiden over 1200m at the same venue just over two weeks later.
A wide barrier is far from ideal in this contest, however, Brutalina remains unexposed and with further improvement expected she looks up to completing a double.
A soft 7 track is expected at Scone with the fifth race of the day a 1300m Benchmark 58 handicap.
Calic Miss is likely to jump as favourite as she bids for her second win in three career starts.
The filly made the perfect start to her career when saluting by over two-and-a-half-lengths in a 1200m maiden held on a wet track at Quirindi at the end of April.
This daughter of Better Lad proved that she can compete with winners when placing second in a Class 1 handicap at Inverell a month later.
The three-year-old will jump from next to the rail and is likely to play a leading role.
SHEILA’S FANTA SEA is preferred for the Wayne Wilkes stable with the filly having doubled her career tally when saluting at Taree last month.
The four-year-old triumphed by one-and-a-half-lengths when contesting a 1250m Class 1 handicap held on a heavy surface that day.
Sheila’s Fanta Sea had previously been beaten two-and-a-half-lengths into second when racing over 1000m in a Benchmark 58 handicap at Port Macquarie.
Regular rider Shae Wilkes is again set to take one-and-a-half-kilograms off the filly’s back and the pair are taken to record their third win together.
At Thangool the fourth race on the card is a 1300m open handicap expected to take place on a good 4 track.
Clinton Taylor’s PAPASITO showed good form in winning his first two starts this prep and he takes the eye despite disappointing at Rockhampton last time.
The gelding was beaten over four lengths when fifth of six in a 1400m Benchmark 70 handicap last month.
Papasito is better judged on his two earlier wins which both came at Benchmark 65 level including at Mackay on his penultimate outing.
The four-year-old boasts a good barrier four from the rail, while he is set to receive weight from all five of his rivals.
Papasito has demonstrated a liking for this venue in the past, having won his only previous start here and he is taken to record his second win at this circuit.
