Sarsen for Sunshine Coast success

Au Revoir looks likely to jump as favourite for the seventh race at Sunshine Coast. The race in question is a 1400m Restricted 62 handicap.

The daughter of Flying Artie made the perfect start to her career when winning at Beaudesert last month. That effort came in a 1400m maiden contest held on a heavy 8 track.

She raced on the speed that day and is well drawn three off the rail to employ similar tactics here but she lacks the experience of her rivals here and fellow last start winner Sarsen is preferred.

The pick impressed when delivering a half-length victory in a 1300m maiden here earlier this month.

He has shown good form over further in the past including when runner-up over 1650m at Doomben in September. With that in mind, the extra distance here is no issue.

He raced from mid-division when winning here last start. The draw could have been kinder given the gelding has drawn barrier 12 for this event.

The pick has the good 4 going to suit with jockey Jaden Lloyd, on board for his last two starts up.

Handler Adam Campton boasts a 29% strike-rate (5-17) here in the last year and his representative can help improve on that.

Mystery for Geraldton triumph

The finale at Geraldton is an interesting 1200m Class 2 handicap contest. A good 3 track is forecast for the eleven-runner contest.

Top weight Extra Secret has done most of her racing at Belmont Park. The daughter of I Am Invincible is expected to have her supporters in this contest.

Adam Durrant's filly won in a Class 3 event over 1200m at the Perth venue first up last month. She was below that form when fifth of six in a similar event over the same track and trip subsequently however.

She tackles an easier event here but course regular Mystery Man is selected on this occasion.

Gordon Spowart's charge registered a first win in seven starts this spell when scoring over this track and trip last month.

Battled to a narrow margin victory having raced from off the pace on a good 3 track on that occasion and tackles a similar event here having previously finished fourth in a 1413m Class 1 here.

Troy Turner, on board for the picks last three starts takes the ride. The selection is a versatile type tactics wise and is selected to deliver career win number three.

Valoyd can score for Egan

Benalla stage a competitive seven race card. The fifth race of the day is a 1406m Restricted 58 contest.

Handler Gerald Egan has his string in good form with three seconds from his last four runners. The trainer is represented by Valoyd in this contest.

The pick delivered a fair seventh in an 1170m contest at Wangaratta when racing first up this spell but followed up with a disappointing ninth over this track and trip. Both of those efforts came at Benchmark 58 level on good 3 tracks.

Valoyd showed improvement last time out however when runner-up over 1200m in the Mansfield Cup.

He makes a quick reappearance following that effort a week ago. With the soft 5 track forecast here no issue the daughter of Moshe looks up to scoring under apprentice Hannah Edgley.
