The sixth race of the day at Warwick Farm is a 2110m Benchmark 72 handicap expected to take place on a good 4 track.
Sting In The Tail has been in good form this prep and is expected to jump as favourite for the Chris Waller team.
The four-year-old has won twice this time around, including on a wet track over 1900m at Canterbury in January.
The filly contested a Benchmark 64 handicap on that occasion and has since delivered two close second-place finishes in similar events at the same venue.
James McDonald, on board for her penultimate start, is again set to ride and his mount holds obvious claims in this field.
The unexposed SEVEN’S is the pick here, however, having switched hemisphere’s having gone unbeaten in two starts in France last year.
Both of those victories in France came in August, including when winning by three-and-a-half lengths in a 2000m conditions event held on a soft 6 track at Vichy.
Prior to that the gelding had got home by a narrow margin when contesting a 2100m maiden held on similar going at Senonnes.
The 3.20 pick debuted for the Annabel Neasham & Rob Archibald team with a solid third, beaten just under four lengths in a Benchmark 64 handicap here in January.
The four-year-old dropped back to 1600m for that contest and, having caught the eye in staying on nicely, he should appreciate the extra distance he gets here.
The son of Bated Breath is expected to have improved for his stable debut and is taken to break through to register his third win in four career starts.
They are set to race on the Hillside track at Sandown, with the penultimate race of the day a 1500m Benchmark 64 handicap.
The going is currently a good 4, with Athantos expected to prove popular as he bids to successfully concede weight to his rivals under Daniel Stackhouse.
The three-year-old showed good form earlier this season, including when crossing the border to register a half-a-length victory over 1600m at Morphettville in October.
The gelding contested a Benchmark 68 handicap that day and returned from a spell with a solid third dropped to 1200m for a Pakenham Benchmark 64 event last month.
The extra distance here is a positive and, while he looks ready for a return to metro racing, he is expected to find BANCORY BAY too strong here.
The son of Fastnet Rock has been in decent form in recent months, including in finishing fourth in three consecutive metro contests.
The most recent of those saw him beaten two-and-a-half lengths when racing over 1800m in a Benchmark 70 handicap on the Lakeside track here at the start of last month.
The 6.00 pick raced on a good 3 track when meeting crowding in the closing stages that day, having finished fourth over 1600m when contesting a similar event at Flemington prior.
Trained by Michael Moroney & Glen Thompson, he arrives here on the back of a hard-fought victory in a 1500m Benchmark 64 handicap at this venue at the end of last month.
Jamie Mott takes the ride here and, jumping from an inside barrier, his mount looks up to completing a double.
The penultimate race at Belmont is a 1000m event expected to take place on a soft 5 track.
Top weight PIN DEEP takes the eye for the Adam Durrant stable, having overcome a slow start to register a win over 1000m at Bunbury on his penultimate start.
The four-year-old got up in the closing stages to deliver his fifth career win when returning from a spell on that occasion.
The 9.00 gelding failed to shine when sixth of seven, having had no cover in a 1000m Benchmark 72+ handicap at Pinjarra next time out and he can be forgiven that effort.
Apprentice Zephen Johnston-Porter’s three-kilogram claim is a positive here and, jumping from barrier eight, his mount is taken to register his second win of the year.
