The fifth race on the Ballina card is a 1590m Benchmark 82 handicap which is set to see top-weight Bean Foggy jump as favourite.
Darren Graham’s representative has recorded some decent efforts in defeat this prep, including when three-lengths fifth of seven at Doomben on his penultimate start.
The gelding jumped at $51 for a Class 6 handicap that day and he arrives here on the back of a fourth in a 1700m Class 5 handicap at Ipswich.
The six-year-old has been freshened since that Ipswich effort, which came in February and he rates highly jumping from an inside barrier.
The Owen Glue-trained SHERRIFF CODY is preferred on this occasion however, having demonstrated good form on the forecast heavy going in the past.
Sheriff Cody has won four of his nine starts on heavy ground, including when contesting a Class 4 handicap at Ipswich in April last year.
The son of Spirit Of Boom has since demonstrated he stays further, including when successful over 2200m in a Class 6 event at Grafton last July.
This six-year-old has been racing over shorter distances in two starts this prep however, including when showing improvement to finish third at Grafton when racing second up last month.
Sheriff Cody was beaten less than two-and-a-half-lengths when racing in a Benchmark 82 handicap over 1175m that day and the extra distance here is a positive.
Matthew McGuren, on board last time out, is again set to ride and his mount looks up to recording the seventh win of his career.
The finale at Goulburn is a 1400m Benchmark 66 handicap expected to take place on a soft 5 surface.
Dubai Warrior is likely to start favourite for the Matthew Smith team, having performed well when third in a 1300m Class 1 handicap here last month.
This son of Pride Of Dubai was making his first start this prep that day and was beaten less than two lengths when racing on good going.
The three-year-old handles wet tracks, having won on a soft surface when breaking his maiden by over a length in a 1300m event at Canterbury in December.
However, the selection here is MINNEHAHA FALLS, who performed well in three of her four starts last prep.
Those four starts included a victory by over two lengths when contesting a 1625m maiden held on a good 4 track at Wyong at the start of September.
Minnehaha Falls raced on the pace that day and went on to record a good third stepped up to Benchmark 64 company for a 1600m handicap at Kembla Grange just under two weeks later.
Trained by Annabel Neasham & Rob Archibald, the filly has had a couple of starts in barrier trials ahead of her return to action including when fourth at Warwick Farm last month.
Alysha Collett’s mount boasts a good barrier six from the rail and looks up to breaking through for a first up success.
A soft 7 surface is expected at Dalby, with the seventh race on the card a Benchmark 0-55 handicap event over 1400m.
The four-year-old PROPHET OF BOOM broke through for her first win when returning to action in a 1400m maiden at Gatton in December.
Prophet Of Boom raced on a soft track that day but has been racing on good going since then including when runner-up last time out.
That runner-up finish saw her beaten half-a-length in a 1400m Benchmark 0-55 handicap at Beaudesert when partnered by her jockey here Karl Zechner.
The pair jumped from barrier six on that occasion and, having again been allocated barrier six for this event, they are taken to go one better for the Corey & Kylie Geran stable.
