Revolver to record win at Geelong

The penultimate race on the Geelong card is the 1700m Cottage By The Sea Cup, a Benchmark 64 handicap set to take place on a good 4 track.

Stardealt is expected to prove popular with punters, having registered top-three finishes in all three starts since resuming with a fifth over 1400m at Pakenham in January.

The gelding’s two most recent efforts have seen him place third across the border at Morphettville, including when beaten a length over 2000m last month.

This son of Dundeel returns from a let-up here and dropping back in distance, holds obvious claims for the Jason Warren stable.

Archie Alexander’s REVOLVER is the pick on this occasion however, having broken through for his first win when saluting by a narrow margin over 2000m at Warrnambool last October.

The New Zealand-bred runner raced on a sound surface that day, having finished runner-up in both previous starts including over 1700m at Warrnambool earlier that month.

This son of Proisir dropped to 1600m at Bendigo last month on his first start back from a spell, finishing just under one-and-a-half-lengths back in a fourth in a Benchmark 64 handicap.

Revolver raced on the pace on that occasion, with similar tactics expected jumping from two off the rail.

Jockey John Allen knows the gelding well, having partnered him in all four previous starts and the pair look up to recording their second win together.

So You Suggest to salute at Port Macquarie

A good 4 track is expected for Port Macquarie’s eight-race card, with the sixth race of the day a 1000m Class 3 handicap.

Jett Newman’s three-kilogram claim is a big help for top weight Yendy, who is expected to feature prominently on the betting on her first start back from a spell.

This filly was tackling stronger races than this when last in action, including when sixth of seven in an 1150m Benchmark 72 handicap at Kensington in September.

The four-year-old was spelled having beaten one rival home on a wet track when contesting a similar event over 1300m at Rosehill the following month.

While Matthew Dunn’s representative has gone well first up in the past, preference is for SO YOU SUGGEST who gets in off a nice racing weight following a win last time.

The daughter of So You Think was returning from just under 11 months off the track when contesting a 1007m Class 1 handicap at Taree on that occasion.

This filly got home by half-a-length when competing in a 12-runner event held on a wet track that day and as was the case on that occasion she will jump from barrier five here.

The four-year-old had previously won once and placed third twice from her four starts last season and the good going expected here is no issue having broken her maiden on good going at Dubbo.

Ashley Morgan is a positive jockey booking here and So You Suggest looks up to completing a double.

Super Impressive to deliver Gold Coast win

Eight races have been programmed for Gold Coast with the penultimate event an 1100m Class 5 handicap.

A good 4 track is expected with the Colt Prosser-trained SUPER IMPRESSIVE arriving here in good form as the winner of two of her last three starts.

Both of those victories have come at Benchmark 66 level, including when saluting by a narrow margin in a 11000m event held on a soft 5 surface at Muswellbrook last month.

The daughter of Smart Missile had finished a good fourth, beaten less than two-and-a-half-lengths in a $150,000 Class 5 Country Championships Qualifier at Port Macquarie on her penultimate start.

Cejay Graham is set to ride for the first time here and, with her mount boasting a good barrier two from the rail, Super Impressive looks up to recording her sixth win in 14 career starts.
