There are three meetings scheduled to take place on Monday with Sapphire Coast, Tamworth and Dalby all set to host racing action.
Harbour Gold @ 6.50
Mystic Diva @ 6.00
Super Quick @ 4.00
A good 4 track is expected at Tamworth with the sixth race of the day a 1200m Benchmark 66 handicap.
A field of 12 has been declared for the race, with Lord Protector expected to have his supporters having won both starts since dropping back in distance this prep.
The four-year-old resumed with a length success in a 950m maiden held on a good 3 surface at Moree just over a month ago.
This son of Savabeel duly followed up when sent off favourite for an eight-runner 1200m Class 1 handicap at Quirindi subsequently.
The good 4 track expected here is in his favour, however, HARBOUR GOLD is preferred for the Brett Cavanough stable.
The four-year-old is a four time winner since resuming with fifth-place finish when contesting a 1000m Benchmark 58 handicap held on a wet track here in April.
The most recent of those victories saw the gelding come home nearly five-lengths clear of his rivals in a 1200m Class 5 set weights contest at Roma.
Nick Palmer, set to ride here, rode for the first time when the gelding failed to shine in finishing last of seven in a 1000m handicap at Muswellbrook on Friday.
The son of Star Witness raced on a soft 7 track that day and the return to a forecast good 4 surface is a positive in this contest.
Barrier 10 isn't ideal, however, the selection is taken to overcome that with the return to 1200m in his favour.
A heavy 10 track is expected at Sapphire Coast with the second race on the card a 1600m Class 1 set weights event.
Sir Sublime has performed well on both previous starts at this venue, including when breaking through for his first win over this distance on his penultimate start.
The gelding came home over two-lengths clear of his rivals when racing from the front on that occasion and he went on to place second at Queanbeyan subsequently.
Theresa Bateup’s representative is unproven on heavy going however and, with underfoot conditions in mind, MYSTIC DIVA is the pick.
This mare placed third on wet tracks on her first two starts this prep and broke through for her maiden success when victorious over 1660m on a soft 6 surface at Moruya in August.
The five-year-old has made just three starts since that effort, with all three of those outings coming in September.
Mystic Diva registered a fourth over 2000m in a Class 1 set weights affair at Wagga on her penultimate start and has been freshened since a Kembla Grange seventh a week later.
Quayde Krogh knows the daughter of Divine Prophet well and looks up to partnering her to victory, dropping back in distance here.
The sixth race at Dalby is a 1400m Benchmark 62 handicap expected to take place on a heavy 8 surface.
Four-year-old SUPER QUICK takes the eye here having demonstrated improvement with racing this prep.
The gelding lost out by one-and-a-half-lengths having been inconvenienced at the start and in the final 300m when runner-up over 1200m at Toowoomba in October.
Super Quick returned to Toowoomba for a 1300m Class 1 set weights event when last in action on 9th November, coming home half-a-length clear of his rivals.
While both of those efforts came on sound surfaces, the gelding impressed in breaking his maiden on a soft 6 track at Dalby in early June.
The softer going expected here shouldn’t pose too many issues and, jumping from a good barrier, he can complete a double.
