Australian Racing: Tycoon Jenny can land Warwick riches

There are five meetings set to take place on Wednesday with a good 4 surface expected at all five, including at Warwick Farm who stage the most valuable meeting of the day.

Race 4 Warwick Farm

Tycoon Jenny @ 3.20

Race 6 Sandown Lakeside

Tahlequah @ 3.80

Race 5 Belmont Park

Super Romani @ 2.70

Jenny to return with victory

The fourth race on the Warwick Farm card is competitive looking 1100m Benchmark 72 handicap for fillies & mares.

Keith Dryden sends out the unbeaten Vinolass here with the filly having completed a hat-trick when delivering a five-and-a-half-length victory at Sapphire Coast at the end of March last year.

The daughter of Supido has been absent since but displayed her tactical versatility, after she raced from off the pace having been slowly away for a Benchmark 58 handicap event that day.

That Sapphire Coast effort came on a soft 5 track and the filly is set to race on a sound surface for the first time in this contest.

Zac Lloyd’s mount is also set to make her first start at metro level here and with that in mind preference is for TYCOON JENNY.

The selection debuted with an all the way win in a 1200m maiden on the synthetic track at Pakenham in July and, while she failed to salute in two subsequent starts, she did place second on each occasion.

Those efforts included a length second in a 1200m Benchmark 70 handicap at Sandown Lakeside when racing on a good 3 track the following month.

The daughter of Written Tycoon has joined the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott team since that effort and she is taken to salute for a team who can boast a 33% strike-rate (16/48) in the last 30 days.

Tahlequah to salute at Sandown

Sandown Lakeside stage an eight-race card with the sixth race a 2100m Benchmark 70 handicap for fillies & mares.

Top weight Mi Rock Aly is expected to have her supporters, with Damian Lane booked to ride, following a good fourth in an 1800m Benchmark 70 handicap on the Hillside course here last month.

The six-year-old had failed to shine when down the field over 1700m at Flemington first up but this trip is far more suitable for the daughter of El Roca.

The step up in distance is no issue here having won over this course and distance in November 2022, however, TAHLEQUAH is the pick in this event.

Trained by Mick Price & Michael Kent Jr, the five-year-old has registered three solid efforts this spell, including when racing wide over 1800m on the Hillside track here last month.

The selection raced on a soft 5 track when contesting a Benchmark 64 handicap that day and she shaped as if she would have no issue with the step up to 2100m here.

Blake Shinn’s mount is fairly versatile tactics wise and jumping from barrier eight she is selected to register her third career win.

Romani to complete hat-trick

The Daniel & Ben Pearce team send out top weight SUPER ROMANI in the fifth race at Belmont Park.

The race in question is a 2100m handicap event with the four-year-old gelding heading into this contest having won two of his three starts this spell.

The second of those victories saw his jockey here Clint Johnston-Porter ride for the first time with the pair saluting by two lengths in a 1690m Class 3 handicap at Bunbury on 26th January.

While the selection failed to shine in a 2200m Benchmark 54+ handicap at Northam in July last year, he has shown good form over 2000m in the past.

Those 2000m efforts include a fourth in the Listed Aquanita Stakes at this track, prior to breaking his maiden over the same trip on a soft 7 track at Pinjarra in July.

The son of Super One arrives here in great form and returning to metro racing, he is taken to complete a hat-trick.
