There are three meetings scheduled to take place on Monday including at Pakenham, where nine races are on their card.

They also race at Alice Springs and Taree.

Wishbone to storm home at Pakenham

The synthetic track is in use at Pakenham, with the eighth race of the day a 1400m Benchmark 70 handicap.

The New Zealand-bred gelding Supernima is expected to jump as favourite, having been competing in metro contests in recent starts.

The three-year-old has been running well in defeat in those metro races, including when beaten just under one-and-a-half lengths at Caulfield three starts back.

The son of Super Seth races over 1600m that day and he arrives here on the back of a length fourth in a 1400m event at Sandown earlier this month.

Emily Pozman’s gets a welcome drop in grade, however, preference is for OUR WISHBONE, who has won two of his three previous starts.

The first of those saw the gelding return from a spell with a victory by nearly three-and-a-half lengths in a 1300m maiden at Seymour just over a month ago.

The 4.20 selection overcame a wide barrier when racing on a sound surface on that occasion, winning in the style of a useful individual.

Archie Alexander’s representative went on to complete a double when making a winning synthetic track debut at Ballarat earlier this month.

The son of Epaulette came home nearly five lengths clear of his rivals when racing over 1400m in a Benchmark 64 handicap that day.

The step up in class is unlikely to pose an issue and she looks up to completing a hat-trick under Fred Kersley.

Cluedo has the answers at Taree

A good 4 track is expected at Taree for their eight-race card, with the sixth race of the day a 1400m Benchmark 58 handicap.

Neil Osborne is set to saddle Spirits Burn Deep here and his mare is expected to have her supporters, having finished runner-up in two of her last three starts.

Those efforts include a two-and-a-half length second when contesting a Benchmark 58 handicap over 1300m at Goulburn earlier this month.

The five-year-old raced on a soft surface that day and will have to overcome a wide barrier if she is to record her second win of the year.

CLUEDO is another to have been allocated a wide barrier, with the mare set to jump from barrier 12.

The daughter of Highly Recommended won over 1400m at Sunshine Coast when contesting a Benchmark 0-58 handicap in October.

The 5.50 selection made just one subsequent appearance that prep, however, with that effort seeing her finish sixth of nine in a heavy ground Class 3 at the same track in November.

The five-year-old was in the care of Brian Smith for those efforts and she showed up well in her second trial back when scoring in a Port Macquarie just over two weeks ago.

The pick is now under Paul Snowden and she has the distance to suit here, with both of her previous victories having come over this distance.

Aaron Bullock is a positive jockey booking and his mount looks up to overcoming a wide barrier to register the third win of her career.

La Vesuvius to erupt at Alice Springs

They are set to race on sand at Alice Springs with the fifth race on their six-race program a 1400m handicap.

Greg Connor’s LA VESUVIUS takes the eye here, having shown up well in stronger races in the past, including when second in a Benchmark 64 handicap at Newcastle in January.

The Eurozone gelding contested a Benchmark 64 handicap on that occasion and he was spelled following a Rosehill ninth two starts later.

The selection showed a liking for the sand track here when resuming with a narrow victory when contesting a 1400m at this venue earlier this month.

Danielle Hirini, on board last time out, is again set to ride here, with the pair selected to complete a double.
