There are three meetings scheduled for Tuesday with Kilmore, Bathurst and Murwillumbah all set to stage racing action.
Written Fame @ 3.20
Ishamashi @ 6.00
Russian Escape @ 2.10
The penultimate contest at Murwillumbah is a 1200m Benchmark 66 handicap set to take place on a heavy 10 surface.
Trained by Toby Edmonds & Stephen McLean, Been A Secret is expected to jump as favourite to record the second win of her career.
This filly broke her maiden when taking out a 1200m event on the polytrack at Gold Coast in July.
The four-year-old has gone on to placed third in two of her three subsequent starts, including when contesting a Benchmark 58 handicap over 1350m at Ipswich last time.
However, WRITTEN FAME is the pick in this contest, having performed well on heavy surfaces in recent starts.
Written Fame delivered a half-length victory when contesting an 1100m Benchmark 58 handicap held on a heavy 8 track at this venue on his penultimate start.
The son of Winning Rupert went on to deliver a good effort in defeat when three lengths fourth stepped up to 1175m for a Benchmark 66 handicap at Grafton.
That Grafton effort came when encountering a heavy 10 surface two weeks ago with Andrew Mallyon, on board for his last two starts, again set to ride.
The concluding contest on Bathurst’s seven-race card is a 1300m Benchmark 58 handicap.
A field of 12 has been declared for the race, which is expected to take place on a good 4 surface.
Nick Olive’s representative Sooboogeliscious is expected to feature prominently in the betting, with the five-year-old a winner already this prep.
The mare delivered a length victory when contesting a Benchmark 58 handicap held over 1200m on a soft 7 track at Dubbo in August.
While Sooboogeliscious has finished held on both subsequent starts, she drops in distance here having raced over 1400m when ninth at Nowra last month.
However, preference in this event is for ISHAMASHI, who placed on wet tracks in her first three starts this time around.
Those efforts include a third when beaten less than a length over 1400m in a Class 1 handicap held on a soft 5 track at Forbes in early August.
The four-year-old’s best effort in two subsequent starts saw her finish fourth when contesting a 1600m set weights Class 1 event at Narromine last month.
Ishamashi was beaten less than three lengths when keen on that occasion and the drop back in distance shouldn’t pose too many issues.
The daughter of Brave Smash broke her maiden on the forecast good 4 going at Bathurst in February and she looks up to doubling her career tally.
The fourth race at Kilmore is a 1450m set weights maiden contest with RUSSIAN ESCAPE looking capable of breaking his maiden jumping from next to the rail.
The four-year-old ended his last prep with a good two length second in a 1600m maiden at Pakenham in March.
Russian Escape raced on a good 4 track that day and encountered similar underfoot conditions when third in a 1300m maiden at Bendigo when racing first up last month.
This gelding has been freshened since that effort, with the good 4 going expected here in his favour having raced on similar ground in all four previous starts.
The runner-up from the previously mentioned Bendigo event has won since and Russian Escape is taken to register his first win.
