Australian Racing: Zaragoza to stroll home at Warwick Farm

There are five meetings set to take place across Australia on Wednesday, including at Warwick Farm, where a seven-race metro card is scheduled.

They also race at Eagle Farm, Murray Bridge, Northam and Sandown.

Race 4 Warwick Farm

Zaragoza @ 5.50

Race 6 Sandown

Bluestone @ 4.80

Race 4 Eagle Farm

Miss Personality @ 4.80

Price charge to relish metro level

The fourth race on the Warwick Farm card is a 1000m Benchmark 72 handicap expected to take place on a good 4 track.

Top weight Romeo’s Choice is expected to feature prominently in the betting, having won twice last prep.

The second of those victories saw the five-year-old win by just under half-a-length when contesting a 1200m Benchmark 78 handicap at Randwick in February.

The gelding was spelled following that effort and trainer Richard Litt drops him back in distance for his return to action.

William A Stanley’s claim is a positive for the top weight and, while he has won first up in the past, he looks opposable over this distance.

Street Boss gelding ZARAGOZA has been in good form on wet tracks in recent times and he is preferred on this occasion.

The five-year-old recorded the third win of his career when successful by half-a-length in a 1000m Benchmark 64 handicap at Kembla Grange in May.

The 5.50 pick raced on the speed when encountering a soft 7 track that day and he was ridden with slightly more restraint over the same track and trip last time out.

That latest effort saw the gelding beaten one-and-a-half-lengths into second when stepped up to a Benchmark 68 handicap at the start of last month.

Robert & Luke Price have freshened their representative ahead of this step up to metro level racing and he is taken to return to winning ways.

Bluestone to rock it at Sandown

The sixth race of the day at Sandown is a 2400m Benchmark 74 handicap expected to be held on a soft 6 track.

Tishman gets in off a nice racing weight and is set to feature prominently in the betting here.

The four-year-old has finished in the top three in two of his three starts this prep, including when successful over 2226m at Sale last month.

The son of Dundeel won by nearly two-and-a-half-lengths when racing on a wet track that day and he holds obvious claims now stepping up to metro racing.

The New Zealand-bred BLUESTONE is preferred here, however, having won twice and placed twice from his four starts so far in 2025.

The 4.80 selection completed a double when taking out a 2400m Benchmark 70 handicap on the Hillside course here in May.

Two placed efforts have followed that, including when beaten less than a length over the same course and distance two weeks ago.

While all four of his starts this time around have come on good going, the gelding broke his maiden on a soft surface at Bendigo in July last year.

Michael Kent’s representative remains open to improvement and he looks capable of recording a win with apprentice Luke Cartwright set to ride.

Miss to hit the target at Eagle Farm

A soft 6 track is expected at Eagle Farm, with the fourth race of the day a 1000m Class 2 handicap.

MISS PERSONALITY takes the eye here for the Barry Lockwood stable, having shown a liking for wet tracks in the past.

The daughter of Lonhro’s wet track efforts include a length success when contesting a 1015m Class 2 handicap held on a soft 5 surface at Gold Coast in February.

While the 4.80 pick failed to salute in two subsequent outings she delivered respectable efforts on each occasion including when sixth over 1200m at Doomben in April.

The four-year-old was spelled following that Benchmark 65 handicap effort and she should strip fitter for a recent barrier trial.

The filly has gone well first up in the past and is taken to resume with a victory under Tahlia Fenlon.
