Australian Racing: Tyita can glide to victory

There are three fixtures set to take place on Tuesday including five provincial races at Rockhampton.

Race 5 Albury

Bianco Vilano @ 12/5

Race 4 Yarra Glen

Tyita @ 1/1

Race 1 Rockhampton

Palace House @ 2/1

Vilano can score at Albury

Gulf Of Aden has delivered two solid efforts this spell and is expected to prove popular in the fifth at Albury.

The race in question is an 1175m Class 1 contest with a good 4 track forecast.

Daniel McCarthy’s charge registered a decent three-and-a-half-length fifth in a 1000m Benchmark 64 contest last start. That effort was his second at Wangaratta this spell having finished fourth over the same trip there prior.

Well drawn in two here, he should have no issue with the extra distance. However, Bianco Vilano for trainer Ron Stubbs is expected to be too strong on this occasion.

The selection has shown good form at Class 1 level so far this spell, placing on both outings. The first of those came when a close second over this course and distance.

That track effort came on a good 4 surface, the same as forecast here. He subsequently showed that further and a soft 6 track was no issue when third over 1300m at Canberra.

Pace wise the wide drawn Space Cowboy is expected to lead them up. Bianco Vilano should be capable of slotting in behind the early speed prior to delivering a victory under Nick Souquet.

Tyita to break maiden at Yarra Glen

The fourth race on the Yarra Glen card is a 16-runner 1500m maiden contest. Kurolation is expected to prove popular with punters having placed on five of his seven previous starts.

Those efforts include third-place finishes on each of his last three outings including over 1430m at Geelong last month.

All of Kurolation’s previous starts have come on a good 4 track however and he is set to tackle this trip for the first time.

The wide draw is a negative with regards his chances. With that in mind Chris Waller’s Tyita is selected to break his maiden.

The four-year-old placed on each of his first three starts including over 1600m at Moonee Valley in November. That Moonee Valley effort came in a 1600m maiden held on a soft 5 surface.

A drop in grade appeared to suit him when a close second in a maiden over this course and distance last time out.

He changed tactics on that occasion, racing from mid-division having previously raced prominently.

Well drawn here, jockey Michael Dee has options tactics wise and can steer the Maurice gelding to victory.

House to deliver Rockhampton victory

The opening maiden contest at Rockhampton looks an interesting affair. The race, set to be held over 1400m has attracted a field of eight.

Top weight Palace House showed good form at metro level in 2021. The best of the son of Frankel’s efforts that spell came when runner-up over 1400m in an Eagle Farm maiden.

That effort came on a good 4 track but the pick has since shown that he handles softer going.

The five-year-old placed third twice last spell with the first of those efforts coming over this trip on the synthetic surface at Pakenham.

He duly followed up with a third-place finish in a field of 12 over 1623m on a heavy 9 track at Moe in July. While a well-beaten fifth at Wangaratta when last in action, it’s notable that that effort came when upped to 2000m.

The return to 1400m here is a positive and the gelding is taken to score on debut for Tasha Chambers.
