Strikers out for revenge

Adelaide Strikers were in the game for long periods before slipping to a 42-run defeat against the Scorchers at Optus Stadium.

After being set a formidable target of 212 to win the game, the Strikers did get off to a solid start with opener Matt Short having the bit between his teeth.

Short went on to make 74 runs off 44 deliveries, but unfortunately for the Strikers, nobody could stay with him.

Chris Lynn and Thomas Kelly were both looking dangerous before losing their wicket for 27 and 29 runs respectively.

Short can be backed at 3.10 to be Team – Top Batter against the Scorchers, while Lynn is available at 4.75.

It was not a great night for the bowlers and that will need to improve at the Adelaide Oval, where the Strikers have picked up their only win.

Henry Thornton was the pick of them when taking 2-31 and he is priced at 4.00 to be Team – Top Bowler on Friday.

Scorchers on fire

The Scorchers are once again the team to beat and after two wins at Optus Stadium, they are back on the road.

They have won both games on the road so far this campaign, and will hold no fears heading into this trip that sees them play the Strikers, Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat.

The Scorchers have plenty of strength in depth with bat and ball, as was proven against the Strikers on Wednesday.

On this occasion it was Laurie Evans, who stepped up to the plate with a blistering 85 runs that came off just 28 deliveries.

The total included seven sixes and seven fours, as the Englishman took the Strikers bowling attack apart.

Evans is 5.50 to be Team – Top Batter once again, with Zak Crawley, Aaron Hardie and Josh Inglis all priced at 4.00.

If it was not for Evans, Lance Morris would have been player of the match, after the fast bowler took 5-24.

Jhye Richardson and Andrew Tye also took a couple of wickets, Jason Behrendorff one, as the Strikers were dismissed for 169.

Morris is 4.50 to be Team – Top Bowler once again.
