Big Bash preview: Brisbane out to keep the Heat on

Brisbane Heat will look to pick up their fourth win from five BBL 13 games when they take on Sydney Thunder on Wednesday.

The Heat have seen one game abandoned, but have won the other three to put them on seven points for the campaign.

They are looking the real deal once again and can be backed at 4.33 to go all the way and win the final, which would make up for the disappointment of 2022/23.

Sydney Thunder finally got their campaign up and running with a win over Melbourne Stars on Saturday and will be aiming to kick on.

The Thunder will be keen to push their way into the top four and are priced at 2.50 to make it.

Heat setting the pace

The Heat continue to shine in BBL 13 and beat Melbourne Renegades by six wickets in their last match.

They appear to have the whole package and should be a real threat at the business end of the competition.

The batting line up is extremely strong, while they have a bowling attack to match, which makes them a very strong side indeed.

Mitchell Swepson, Paul Walter and Xavier Bartlett have all taken six wickets apiece so far and the Thunder batting line-up could be in for a torrid time.

Walter was the top bowler against the Renegades after taking 3-27 off his four overs and he then went on to smash 30 not-out off 15 deliveries.

He can be backed at 5.50 to be Team – Top Bowler once again on Wednesday and a bigger price of 10.00 to be Team – Top Batter.

That accolade went to Matt Renshaw in the last match when he finished 49 not out off 37 deliveries.

Renshaw is 4.33 to be Team – Top Batter, with Colin Munro available at 3.60.

Thunder up and running

It has been a slow start to BBL 13 for the Thunder, but they are finally up and running following a five-wicket win over Melbourne Stars.

The Stars set a decent target of 173 after batting first, but the Thunder got there with 10 balls remaining to take the points.

Daniel Sams and Zaman Khan both impressed with the ball when taking 4-33 and 3-24 respectively off their four overs.

Both are priced at 4.33 to be Team – Top Bowler and should be full of confidence.

Alex Hales finally got among the runs with his biggest knock off the season so far. His 40 runs off 26 deliveries got the run chase off to a strong start.

His opening partnership with Cameron Bancroft, who scored 30 off 20 balls, laid the foundations for the victory.

Again, both are priced at 3.75 to be Team – Top Batter.
