Big Bash: Brisbane look to keep Heat on

Brisbane Heat will be looking to continue their strong start to the Big Bash League campaign when they take on Melbourne Renegades on Thursday.

The Heat have won two from three games so far and can be backed at 2.37 to make the Big Bash grand final for the second year in a row.

Last year they lost the big dance to the Perth Scorchers, but that loss has not affected them and they have come back in BBL 13 looking to make up for that disappointment.

The Renegades are looking for their first win and will be hoping the home advantage of Marvel Stadium can help to get them over the line.

They can be backed at 5.00 to make the final and a win over the Heat could kick-start their campaign.

Zampa in for Renegades

The Renegades slipped to a narrow eight-run loss against the Sydney Sixers in their opening BBL 13 clash, before the match against Perth Scorchers was abandoned.

They are back in action at Marvel Stadium and are boosted by the news that Adam Zampa has been named to play.

Zampa made the switch from the Melbourne Stars during the off-season and impressed on debut when taking 2-24 in the loss against the Sixers.

The spin bowler can be backed at 3.60 to be Team – Top Bowler against the Heat, but it was Will Sutherland who was the star against Sydney.

Not only did Sutherland take 2-21, he also top scored with the bat when smashing 51 not-out off 30 deliveries.

Sutherland is a big price at 17.00 to be Team – Top Batter once again, and the Renegades will be hoping the likes of Joe Clarke, Aaron Finch and Quinton de Kock can put on a big score.

With Zampa back in the squad, Peter Siddle, who was named to face Perth Scorchers, is the player to sit out on Thursday.

The Renegades were knocked out of finals by Heat in BBL 12, so a revenge mission will be on their mind.

Heat off to a flyer

Brisbane Heat have got off to a great start when winning two of their three games in impressive fashion.

The other against Adelaide Strikers was washed out without a ball being bowled.

It is no surprise then that a host of Heat players have been turning on the style in the early part of the campaign.

Colin Munro has caught the eye with 145 runs from two innings, including a 99 not-out in the first match.

The opening batsman is priced at 3.50 to be Team – Top Batter once again on Thursday night.

On the bowling side of things, the Heat are blessed with a heap of talent that are all taking wickets.

Mitchell Swepson and Xavier Bartlett have taken five each, while Matthew Kuhnemann, Michael Neser and Paul Walter have three to their name.

Neser is 4.00 to be Team – Top Bowler on this occasion.
