Thursday sees Brisbane and Collingwood open up Round 6 of the 2025 AFL season, with the Lions looking to make it six wins on the bounce.
The reigning premiers have made a perfect start to their premiership defence, and look as though they could take some stopping this season.
Collingwood, who won the premiership in 2023, have also made a great start with four wins from five.
After losing the opening round they have won the last four to move to fourth on the ladder, so are in good shape heading to the Gabba.
This clash has the potential to be a dress rehearsal for the grand final later in the year, and both teams will be desperate to show what they are made of.
The last three meetings have been tight to say the least, and Thursday night’s clash looks set to be no different.
Brisbane continue to shine this season, winning their opening five games of the season, as the points continue to flow.
The Lions have scored 118 points in both the last two victories over the Western Bulldogs and Richmond, and confidence will be sky high.
However it will be a different test altogether against a Collingwood side that are also at the top of their game.
Brisbane have lost the last three games against the Pies so will be desperate to snap that streak and gain some revenge.
There has not been much in the games however. Indeed Collingwood won the last meeting by just one point, while the other two were by 20 points and four points.
It is likely to be close again, and Brisbane can be backed at 6.00 to win by 1-12 points.
Eric Hipwood continues to be in great form for the Lions and booted another five goals in the win over the Bulldogs.
The forward is 12.00 to kick the first goal or 1.12 to score at anytime.
Collingwood are starting to show they have what is takes to launch another premiership push after winning the last four games.
They have seen off Carlton and Sydney among those four wins, and now have their sights on the Lions.
It will be a tough test at the Gabba, but on their last visit there, they did pick up a 20-point win.
They can be backed at 8.00 to do the same again and win by 13-24 points.
Collingwood may have Nick Daicos, but they look to have unearthed a new midfield star in the form of Ned Long.
Long collected 29 disposals in the win over Sydney, and can be backed at 2.55 to collect 25+ against the Lions.
Daicos is 1.65 to collect 30+.
