NRL: Broncos handed Reynolds boost for Cowboys clash

Adam Reynolds will return to the Brisbane Broncos side when they take on the unbeaten North Queensland Cowboys on Friday.

The Broncos have had a tough start to the season, winning one out of three, but they have not been helped by injuries to key players.

There is now some positive news for the Broncos as key playmaker Reynolds is back in the side after recovering from a knee injury.

Kevin Walters' side are 5.50 to win the grand final in 2024 and cannot afford many more slip-ups, making Friday night’s derby clash even bigger.

The Cowboys have started the season with three wins and are priced at 15.00 to win the premiership.

This will be their biggest test yet and if they can pick up the two points at Suncorp, the belief will really start to grow.

What: Brisbane Broncos v North Queensland Cowboys
Where: Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
When: 20:00, Friday 29th March 2024
How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel, Channel 9
Odds: Brisbane Broncos 1.91, North Queensland Cowboys 1.91

Broncos look to bounce back

The Broncos suffered a 34-12 defeat against Penrith Panthers in the grand final rematch last week and need to bounce back.

Kevin Walters will be pleased with the way his side hung in there and scored a couple of late tries when the Panthers threatened to run away with it.

Brisbane suffered a massive blow as gun fullback Reece Walsh fractured a cheekbone in that game which could see him spend around a month on the sidelines.

Tristan Sailor will come in and replace him at fullback, while the Broncos will be delighted to have Reynolds back pulling the strings.

The Broncos beat the Cowboys on both occasions in 2023 and Ezra Mam scored three tries over the two games.

Mam can be backed at 3.75 to score at anytime, while Selwyn Cobbo, who is a try-scoring machine at Suncorp, is 15.00 to score the first.

Cowboys eye four in a row

The Cowboys have not started a season with four wins on the bounce since 2007 but get the chance to do so against their big rivals.

After a disappointing 2023, the Cowboys look to have the bit between their teeth once again this season.

Wins over the Dragons, Knights and Dolphins will have them full of confidence, but this will be the biggest test yet.

The Broncos won by 12 and 16 points last season, but the Cowboys can be backed at 6.50 to turn the tables and win by 6-10 on Friday night.

Winger Kyle Feldt is always a huge threat and is 2.25 to score at any time, or 9.50 to grab the first try of the game.

They are also boosted by the return of Zac Laybutt, who returns from an ankle injury, and the centre is 3.75 to score at any time.
