Australian Racing: Bully For You ready to dominate

There are three meetings set to take place on Tuesday, with Goulburn, Swan Hill and Emerald all scheduled to host racing action.

Race 8 Goulburn

Bully For You @ 5.50

Race 6 Swan Hill

Dirt On Harry @ 5.00

Race 1 Emerald

Janean @ 2.30

Bully to complete a double

The finale on the Goulburn card is an interesting 1300m Benchmark 66 handicap contest set to take place on a soft 5 track.

British Statesman is expected to jump as favourite, having delivered his third career success when triumphing over 1200m at Queanbeyan just under a month ago.

That success came in a Class 2 handicap held on a good 3 track, but the four-year-old tackles softer going here.

Michael Heagney’s mount has performed well on wet tracks in the past including when beaten less than one-and-a-half-lengths when fifth over 1118m at Dubbo first up this spell.

The son of Churchill has to prove he stays 1300m however and, with that in mind, it can pay to look elsewhere, with hold-up performer BULLY FOR YOU the pick.

The five-year-old has a wide alley here but that should pose no issues given his hold up racing style, employed successfully over this trip when saluting by half-a-length here last month.

Trained by Ross McConville the 5.50 selection had previously disappointed when eighth over 1200m in a Benchmark 64 handicap at Kembla Grange just under two weeks earlier.

The son of Bull Point has performed well on wet tracks in the past and, with that in mind, he is taken to deliver his third career success.

Harry set for Hill glory

Andrew Bobbin saddles DIRT ON HARRY in the sixth race of the day at Swan Hill.

The race in question is a 1600m Benchmark 58 handicap set to take place on a good 4 surface.

The pick showed good placed form earlier this year, including when beaten less than two lengths into second in a 2007m Benchmark 58 handicap at Kilmore in February.

The 5.00 gelding followed that effort up with a fifth in a similar contest over around the same distance on a good 3 track at the same track the following month.

The seven-year-old was spelled following that effort and, while he drops back in trip here, he boasts a good record at the distance, having won once and placed twice from five outings.

Will Gordon’s mount heads here fresh, which shouldn’t pose many issues given the veteran galloper has won first up in the past and he is taken to resume with a victory here.

Janean ready to break maiden

Emerald open with a set weights maiden plate due to take place over 1100m on a soft 6 surface.

Brave Informer took a step forward from her barrier trial showings when beaten less than three-and-a-half-lengths into third in a six runner 1200m maiden at Beaudesert August 25th.

Racing on a good 4 surface on that occasion, the daughter of Heroic Valour kept on nicely in a race that has seen the fourth home Fastheartbeat register a victory on her only subsequent start.

The filly is expected to find JANEAN too strong here, however, with the pick having been beaten less than two lengths when fourth over 1000m in a Toowoomba maiden September 9th.

While the 2.30 selection has yet to race on a wet track she represents a stable in good form with Clinton Taylor boasting a near 29% strike-rate (4/14) in the last month.

Taylor was on the mark at Mackay on Saturday and his representative here looks up to recording her first victory.
