Hobart Hurricanes Women will look to continue their strong form in the WBBL when they play hosts to the Adelaide Strikers Women on Saturday.
The Hurricanes have won their last two games to keep them at the top of the ladder and are the hot fancies to beat the Strikers.
They have already done that this week. Beating the Strikers by 28 runs on Wednesday, and will take some stopping once again.
Adelaide are having a campaign to forget as they sit at the very bottom of the ladder, having lost each of the last five games.
They will be hoping the familiar surroundings of the Adelaide Oval will give them some joy for once this season.
The Strikers have won just one game from seven during Big Bash Women 2024 and have lost the last five games on the bounce.
Their latest loss came against the Hurricanes on Wednesday when they struggled to contain Lizelle Lee, who made 103 off 59 deliveries.
This was after the Strikers had won the toss and decided to bowl. Hobart made 192-2 and it was a total the Strikers were always going to struggle to chase down.
That turned out to be the case, despite the best efforts of Laura Wolvaardt, who finished on 63 not-out, while Smriti Mandhana made 51.
Tahlia McGrath has been one of the key batters for the Strikers this campaign, and after a disappointing four runs on Wednesday, will be keen to bounce back.
Lizelle Lee was the player of the match with her 103 runs that set up the win, and she will look to take that form to the Adelaide Oval.
Lee has an average off 55 runs over the last 10 matches and will be crucial to the Hurricanes chances of going all the way this season.
Nicola Carey was also impressive with the bat when finishing on 64 not-out, providing solid support for Lee.
While the wickets did not tumble, the Hurricanes bowling attack did enough to slow the Strikers chase, which got them the two points.
Amy Smith was the pick of the bowlers when taking 1-16 off her four overs.
