Adelaide Strikers have won two of their last three Big Bash matches to keep alive their slender chances of making the finals.
The Strikers need to finish their league campaign strongly and they face an impressive Sydney Sixers side who have won 10 of their last 12 meetings with the Adelaide franchise.
The last game at Adelaide Oval produced a high-scoring win for the hosts as Strikers skipper Matt Short smashed 109 off 54 balls to power his team to 5-251 against Brisbane Heat.
But the Sixers are also in good spirits after Steve Smith's unbeaten 121 set up a 14-run victory over Perth Scorchers last time out.
Sydney Sixers are 1.89 to extend their fine head-to-head record against Adelaide Strikers although the Sixers have lost their last two clashes at Adelaide Oval.
They won their first four matches of the 2024/25 campaign before losing to Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars either side of a washout against the Heat.
However, Steve Smith's triumphant return to Big Bash action has compensated for the departure of leading runscorer James Vince and Smith is 3.25 to be the Sixers' Top Batter.
Opening the batting, he faced only 64 balls for his unbeaten 121 against the Scorchers and the rest of the available Sixers batters have scored only two half-centuries between them in seven completed matches.
Despite making only one Big Bash appearance this season, Smith is the Sixers' leading six-hitter with seven and he is 2.62 to hit the most maximums for the visitors on Wednesday.
Adelaide Strikers are missing the injured Chris Lynn, who has looked in great touch in recent games, scoring 88, 49 and 47 in his last three innings.
England international Ollie Pope is 5.50 to be the Strikers' Top Batter but he has struggled to make an impact this season despite batting in the top four.
Pope has amassed just 133 runs from 113 balls, with a top score of 39, and he contributed only six to the Strikers' huge total against the Heat last time out.
Over 343.5 Total Match Runs can be backed at 1.83 and the aggregates in this season's matches at Adelaide Oval have been 315, 417, 288 and 446.
In the last meeting between these sides in Adelaide, in December 2022, the Strikers racked up 6-184 before restricting the Sixers to 7-133 – a total of 317 runs.
