Adelaide Strikers Women v Perth Scorchers Women: Big Bash Women preview

Perth Scorchers Women can jump into the top four with a win over the Adelaide Strikers Women on Tuesday.

The Scorchers are struggling for consistency but remain in the mix for a place in the finals, having won four of their seven games.

Adelaide remain at the foot of the WBBL ladder, but can take heart from the fact they picked up just their second win of the campaign on Saturday.

They will now be out for back-to-back wins and the game being at the Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide should weigh in their favour.

Scorchers look to bounce back

Perth Scorchers suffered a setback in their last match as the Sydney Thunder beat them by seven wickets in a tight encounter.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Scorchers made 170-5 with Beth Mooney the star of the show.

Mooney made 97 off 64 deliveries, while Sophie Devine also chipped in with 44 from 33 deliveries.

Unfortunately for the Scorchers, the rest of the batting line up could not deliver, and the total was not enough to get the job done.

With ball in hand they struggled to contain Thunder opener Georgia Voll, who finished on 97 not-out.

Sydney reached the target for the loss of just three wickets, with six balls left, and the Scorchers will be determined to bounce back.

Strikers find some form

Adelaide Strikers finally ended their losing sequence as they beat the Hobart Hurricanes at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

The Strikers made 140-7 after winning the toss and deciding to bat, which left the door open for the Canes to win the match.

Madeline Penna was Team – Top Batter with 60 runs from 40 deliveries, but it still looked to be a very reachable target.

Thankfully for the Strikers, their bowlers came out to play as the Hurricanes were bowled out for just 102 in 15.2 overs.

Tahlia McGrath starred when taking 4-13 off 3.2 overs, while Megan Schutt took 2-14 and Anesu Mushangwe 2-18.

It was Penna who was named player of the match following her performance with the bat, and she will hope to carry that form into the clash with the Scorchers.
