Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Sixers will battle it out for a place in the Big Bash final when they go head-to-head at Ninja Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Hurricanes finished top of the pile following the conclusion of the regular season, and now the real work begins.
Another win for the side from Tasmania will send them through to the final, which would once again be played at Ninja Stadium.
Home advantage could be key for the Hurricanes, and a capacity crowd of 16,000 is expected to pack out the venue.
However the vastly experienced Sixers, who finished in second spot on the ladder, will be out to spoil the party.
If anyone can, the Sixers can, and a thrilling encounter looks to be on the cards.
The loser will get a second bite of the cherry, but both sides will be desperate to get the job done on Tuesday night.
Hobart Hurricanes have had an outstanding BBL campaign but will need to return to winning ways against the Sixers.
The Canes slipped to just their second defeat when the Melbourne Stars beat them by 40 runs on Sunday evening.
With the top spot already in the bag heading into the final game of the regular season, the Hurricanes can be forgiven for the blip.
However they cannot afford any more and will be out to bounce back in front of a packed Ninja Stadium.
The two sides have met once already this season, with the Hurricanes winning by 50 runs at Ninja Stadium.
Nikhil Chaudhary did the damage with the bat on that occasion when scoring 42 off 31 deliveries as he took the player of the match award.
Chaudhary is set to be key once again, as is bowler Nathan Ellis, who has taken 11 wickets in his last nine matches.
Riley Meredith and Chris Jordan have also been in good touch and the Hurricanes will need them once again when they face the Sixers.
Sydney Sixers head into the match on the back of back-to-back wins, but saw their latest clash against the Thunder curtailed by the weather.
It denied them a chance of taking top spot on the ladder and a home final, so they will now have to get the job done in Tasmania.
They will have to do a lot better than New Year’s Day, when chasing 162 to win, they were skittled out for just 111 runs in 19.3 overs.
The one positive from that defeat was Jackson Bird taking 4-16 off his four overs.
Sydney have won the last two however, beating the Scorchers by 14 runs, before beating the Strikers by three wickets in Adelaide.
Steve Smith scored 52 runs in that match, but the Sixers will be missing Smith, who is set to head off to Sri Lanka with the Australian Test side.
