Sydney Sixers need to snap a two-match losing streak when they travel to Tasmania to take on an inconsistent Hobart Hurricanes side.

The Sixers were one of the hot fancies to win the WBBL title heading into the new campaign, but have just one win from their opening three games to leave them off the pace.

Canes need to find consistency

The Hurricanes have made a solid start to the WBBL campaign when winning two of their opening four games.

However stringing back-to-back wins together has been an issue as they tend to win one and then lose one.

If that pattern is to continue then the Hurricanes are due a win back on home soil.

In fairness it was always going to be a big ask, backing up against the Melbourne Stars, the day after a win against the Heat in Brisbane.

After winning the toss and deciding to bat, they made just 133-7, and the Stars chased down the target with 13 deliveries to spare.

Back on home soil, they will look to bounce back to winning ways, but it will be far from easy against a Sixers side that has the sign over them.

Sydney have won each of the last six meetings between the two sides, including a three-wicket win in Tasmania in the last encounter.

Sixers in need of a boost

Following back-to-back defeats against Melbourne Stars and Adelaide Strikers, the Sixers need a win on Wednesday to get their campaign back on track.

The weather did not help them against the Stars as they were set a revised target of 89 via DLS method, but came up 32 runs short.

They can take heart from the fact they have won the last six games against the Hurricanes, and do have a side packed with quality still.

Such star players just need to start hitting some form.

Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner are two of them, with both players deadly with both bat and ball in hand.

Perry has a 51.88 average over the last 10 WBBL matches, and scored 31 of the Sixers' 56 runs in the loss to the Stars.

Now the rest of the batting order need to step up to the plate.
