Tadej Pogacar and Mathieu van der Poel are set to renew their rivalry when they tackle the famous cobbled roads at the Tour of Flanders on Sunday 6th April.
Van der Poel came out on top in their most recent battle at Milan-San Remo and has a great record in Flanders, winning the Ronde van Vlaanderen on three occasions.
However, Pogacar has also won the Tour of Flanders and is in top form heading into the top 2025 edition.
It is being billed as a two-horse race, but anything can happen on the cobbles and a host of other riders are also in the mix.
Let’s take a look at the outright odds for the 2025 Tour of Flanders.
Tadej Pogacar - 1.72
Mathieu van der Poel - 2.75
Mads Pedersen - 9.00
Wout Van Aert - 10.00
Matteo Jorgensen - 34.00
Filippo Ganna - 51.00
Tadej Pogacar - 1.72
Tadej Pogacar is the hot fancy at 1.72 to add another Tour of Flanders to his palmares and, if all goes to plan, will take some stopping.
The Slovenian won the Tour of Flanders in 2023 when edging out Mathieu van der Poel by just 16 seconds, with Mads Pedersen in third.
Pogacar has already shown he is in good touch this year when winning Strade Bianchi and coming third in Milan-San Remo.
He has not raced since finishing third in Milan-San Remo and should be fresh and raring to go once again.
It would take a brave man to back against Pogacar and barring any bad luck he will be in the mix at the death.
Mathieu van der Poel - 2.75
Mathieu Van der Poel has won the race on three occasions in 2020, 2022 and most recently in 2024.
The Dutchman is priced at 2.75 to defend his title and become the only rider in history to have won Tour of Flanders on four occasions.
The classics specialist could not be in better form either. After winning at Milan-San Remo, he followed that up with an impressive win at E3 Saxo Bank Classic.
E3 is raced over the same roads as Tour of Flanders and his dominant win, albeit without Pogacar in the field, shows he is ready to strike again.
Pogacar pipped him to the post in 2023 and he will be out for revenge, so another epic battle looks to be on the cards.
Mads Pedersen - 9.00
If Pogacar or Van der Poel suffer misfortune or slip up, then Mads Pedersen is the most likely rider to take advantage.
The Danish ace was very impressive on Sunday when claiming another cobbled classic, Ghent Wevelgem.
There was no Van der Poel or Pogacar in the race, but he still blew away the rest when launching an attack just over 50km from home.
If Pedersen can stay in touch with the two hot fancies then his powerful sprint could serve him well come the end of the race.
He is 9.00 to take the honours.
Wout Van Aert - 10.00
A couple of years ago, Wout Van Aert was mentioned in the same breath as Pogacar and Van der Poel, but his form has since dipped.
He raced the E3 Saxo Bank Classic but failed to put himself in the hunt for glory, coming over the finish line in 15th place.
However, if he can rediscover his best form in Flanders, he will be in with a shout of winning the race for the first time.
The Belgian is priced at 10.00 to cause an upset.
